Alyssa couldn't stop laughing when she read the 'typed' note.
If you have a dog, you probably know what it is like to take care of them. Similar to human babies, they also demand equal attention, love, and care. From feeding them on time to taking them for regular walks, having a pet comes with responsibilities to ensure their overall well-being. Likewise, when a woman named Alyssa, who goes by u/_tsuki_usagi_ on Reddit, agreed to babysit her uncle's dog, Star, she received a heartfelt letter—written on behalf of the canine—talking about everything that it takes to look after the puppy.
The heartwarming note began with the adorable dog thanking its cousin, Alyssa, for agreeing to babysit while its parents were away. "I am excited to spend some time with you," the letter read. Further, the puppy revealed that it had already packed a bag full of essentials, including food, blankets, bowls, a leash, and a harness. The letter further shared Star's dietary routine, explaining what it should be fed and in what amount. Additionally, on behalf of Star, the dog's "parents" conveyed that their dog might be a little reluctant to eat in their absence and Alyssa shouldn't be worried about it. "Mom and Dad wanted me to tell you that sometimes when I am away from them, I don't eat a lot. Don't worry too much; as you can see, I am not going to die of starvation," the letter read.
Not only that, Star revealed that its mother had even packed its favorite treats and poop bags, sharing that it might take a little longer to complete bathroom duties, and urged Alyssa to be patient. "Mom and Dad usually take me out a few times a day, and I love walking. But you don't have to walk me for too long if you don't want to. As long as I can go out before my bedtime, I promise I will sleep all night for you," the letter added. The letter concluded with the wish that Alyssa would enjoy all the cuddles and kisses that Star would shower on her. "Call Mom and Dad if you need anything!" they added.
Reacting to the post, u/pea_gravel commented, "That's beautiful. My dogs also don't eat when I'm not home. As soon as I get home, they finish the whole bowl!" u/impossibletax shared, "Oh geez. This one made me genuinely happy. I left similar instructions for friends who came to feed my dog one afternoon when he was declining. My friend left a detailed note in return from my dog to me about what they did that afternoon, and my dog shamed me in that letter because my friend had to put my melty butter back in the fridge, and could I please not embarrass him in front of humans in this manner again? Both letters remain on my fridge years later."
