Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller Rogen decided early on that they did not want to raise children.

For countless couples, the transition from parenthood isn't so much a conscious choice but rather a logical step they are expected to take. This was exactly the expectation from comedy icon Seth Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, after they exchanged vows back in 2011; however, they decided to opt out of it. Seth Rogen explained why they didn't want any children and it's resonating with Gen Z even more now.
During an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in 2023, Seth revealed why he and his wife, Lauren Miller, have continued choosing to remain a child-free couple more than a decade into their marriage. "It just doesn’t seem that fun," the 44-year-old candidly admitted. "Most of my friends who are parents, God bless them, spend a lot of their time talking about how much they don’t like having kids. And what my wife and I spend a lot of time talking about is how much fun stuff we can do because we don’t have kids."

He went on to explain how couples jump into parenthood without giving it much of a thought and regretting it later on. That's why he and his wife decided to live life on their terms, and things have seemingly been working out pretty well for the Hollywood couple. Nonetheless, while it seems like their personal opinion, it seemingly resonates heavily with Generation Z or Gen Z, as everyone likes to call them. They seemingly share this thought of not having kids with the couple.

According to a study conducted by MassMutual, almost 23% adults aged 18 to 43 years old don't plan on having kids at all. This comes as a result of several factors, such as the growing cost of living, difficulty in finding a suitable partner, etc. However, another study conducted by the Pew Research Center suggests that people nowadays just don't want kids because they don't want to more than anything else, with nearly 57% adults under the age of 50 conveying so during participation.
Moreover, this isn't fluff by any measure, as in the past ten years, the UK's birth rates have been constantly falling. In a study conducted by the University of Southampton, which included nearly 7,000 adults aged 18 to 59 in 2024, nearly 15% stated that they are adamantly against having kids, yet giving even more proof to this theory. Nonetheless, as the younger generation sends a clear message, the internet is also starting to get a grasp of things.

In a clip from the very show, where Rogen discussed his views posted on Reddit by u/SappyGilmore, people wondered whether having kids is worth it or not. "If anything, having kids is the selfish choice. People choose to have kids because they themselves want them and think it'll enrich their own lives," u/OkArmy7059 commented. Meanwhile, u/Okgiraffe666 commented, "We got a lot of humans in this world. Not bringing kids should also be celebrated. Especially if it’s not what you want. Intentional parenting is cool! Intentional non-parenting is also cool!"
