Server shares secret ways to get 20% tips from customers and it has people in stitches

There’s nothing better than a little humor to add flavor to one’s daily activities. When it comes to customer service-related jobs, adding that hysterical tick always pays off for the better. A server, Hailey, shared a video on TikTok revealing what secret things help her in getting the extra tip beyond 20%. Right enough, the server shared some hilarious jokes to uplift the entire mood of the table one was serving and it’s a total banger. “These are the server bits that get me an immediate 20% tip,” Hailey said. Getting straight to it, she revealed a list of what she calls “glorified dad jokes” that will guarantee a wholesome tip at the end of a customer's meal.

First off, Hailey suggested taking advantage of the situation at the table, especially when a table requests something. “You want some extra ranch? Let me grab that for you real quick,” Hailey said, citing an example. She then staged a scenario where she’d return with the ranch and find the table saying their grace before meals or prayers. Instead of simply leaving the item on the table or interrupting the customers, Hailey suggested taking a quick round of the neighboring tables. “Come back with their ranch as soon as they’re done praying. Boom! Set the ranch on the table, ‘Your prayers have been answered,’ everyone’s cackling,” she said. 

In the next scenario, Hailey spilled the beans on how to add light humor to veterans while appreciating them. “See a veteran with a hat? ‘Oh, thank you for your service',” she suggested as a line to use on the veterans to make them feel more approachable and appreciate them. This, in turn, would get the veteran to smile, already lifting the mood. Hailey then added the punchline saying, “I promise my service will be excellent today.” "When I tell you, 25% easily,” she added. Next, Hailey came up with the "daddest joke" ever, suggesting that dads would love this one. “If your customers have completely cleared the table, ‘Oh my gosh, we must have hated it!’” Hailey suggested saying with the happiest sarcastic tone possible. “They’re cackling, especially if there’s a dad at the table, he’s cracking up,” she added. Finally, Hailey shared one last joke to use which can be used often.

Anytime a customer asks for water, she humorously suggests saying, “Water on the rocks, coming right up,” as a sarcastic comment indicating the alcohol reference. Several fellow servers jotted the punchlines while others shared their best dad jokes. @gabs1111111111 said, “When someone says, ‘Sorry, just a minute,’ I say, ‘It’s okay, take your time, I get paid by the hour.’” @malenuhh.duh added, “When I see an empty plate, I say, ‘They got an empty plate again.
