Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, but imposing those ideologies on others can cause problems. Recently, this issue surfaced when rumors spread that the world would end on April 8, coinciding with a total solar eclipse. u/writtenonpaige22, a server at a restaurant, shared her unusual experience after a woman tipped her coworker a hefty $777 on her bill, claiming that the world was ending. The coworker was completely baffled, unsure how to react.

The server mentioned in her previous post that the same woman had come in earlier and made a $300 tip on a $40 bill for similar reasons. When the woman visited the restaurant again, she was served by her coworker. “According to my coworker, she kept asking if he was Christian, to which he said no and then she started talking about how awful it’ll be after the Rapture (which she thinks is on April 8) for sinners left on Earth,” the post read. The waiter didn’t dig much into it and continued to serve the woman as any other customer. As the meal concluded, the woman left a staggering $777 tip, telling the server he would need it soon. The server was beyond baffled and had no idea how to respond.

He then confirmed with the female server, who had previously served the customer, and the manager to ensure no trouble. “Our manager then asked the woman if she intended to make that tip and she said, ‘Of course, it’s with the Lord’s numbers’ and then left,” the post explained. The woman was undoubtedly delusional, but even after confirming with her, she chose to leave the enormous tip. The manager agreed to take the tip and give it to the server as always and mentioned that she would not receive a refund under any circumstances since she verified her tip. “Friday is our payday, so both my coworker and I will be getting our tips from her today, and if she comes back April 9, she probably won’t be able to get the money back, but I honestly feel bad for her,” the post concluded.

People couldn't wrap their heads around the woman's weird belief. Some asked the servers to enjoy their tip. u/Badbikerdude said, “I’m pretty sure she will be back, but I don’t think she will be very happy.” u/Ismoketobaccoinabong added, “Just waiting for Tuesday about the story of her coming back and demanding her money back because the rapture didn’t happen.” u/azurepoptosis commented, “Feel bad for her? She did it on her own volition and verbally confirmed. It doesn’t get fairer than that.” u/DogsCatsKids_helpme chimed in, “The Bible clearly says that nobody will know the day or time of the rapture but God. People like her think they’re somehow so special that the Bible doesn’t apply to them. It’s crazy.”
