Serena Williams' daughter had the most adorable reaction to her pregnancy news: 'I'm so excited!'

Serena Williams made her second pregnancy announcement at the 2023 Met Gala. She is now sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how she and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, disclosed the news to their daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian just a few hours before Met. On May 24, the 41-year-old retired professional tennis player shared a video on her YouTube channel, showing herself and Ohanian getting ready to inform their five-year-old that she will soon be a big sister.

The video begins with Williams showing a positive pregnancy test and saying, "I just took this test today and I’m super happy. I'm just praying it keeps working." She is then seen gearing up to tell Olympia the news, with Ohanian by her side. "Olympia does not know right now that I am pregnant, but she did call me fat and then she got really, like, stressed out. She was like, 'Mommy, you're fat,'" Williams hilariously revealed. "I tried not to take it personally, 'cause I'm like, super into fitness... I'm really excited to see [her] reaction."

The screen then cuts to Williams and Ohanian sitting on a couch with Olympia sandwiched between them. "Remember how you've been praying for a little sister or brother?" the tennis star asks the young girl. "Well, we went to the doctor, and it turns out I’m not getting fat, but I have a baby in my belly." Olympia smiles at her mom and asks, "Are you kidding me?"

"No, you're gonna be a big sister," Williams and Ohanian assure their daughter. Olympia then jumps and screams with joy. She hugs Williams and repeatedly says, "Oh my God, I'm so excited," before racing around the room. Williams then shows her baby bump to the little girl, which causes Olympia to celebrate some more. She begins to run around the room again, screaming, as both her parents laugh. When she is no longer visible to the camera, she appears to trip and fall on the floor, before yelling, "I'm OK."

The rest of the four-minute video shows Williams and Ohanian getting ready for the Met Gala, which she attended in a Gucci gown. "I am revealing to the world that I am pregnant. I am expecting my second child, which is exciting," Williams says in the video. "This is a really important time where this is the look that I'm going to show my daughter or my son when they're born, one day, they'll look back and see, this is how mommy expressed herself and told everyone that she was pregnant with you. You want this moment to be totally iconic and totally fresh, yet really special."

Williams announced her pregnancy on Instagram shortly before walking the red carpet. "Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala," Williams wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, which included a photo of her and Ohanian, who was also dressed in Gucci. Ohanian shared a similar picture on his Instagram page, writing in the caption, "Mama & Papa love this parenting thing, so we're back at it."

Williams flaunted her growing baby bump at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 1, looking stunning in a black-and-white custom Gucci ensemble. She accessorized the dramatic gown with layers of white pearl necklaces, a Lelet NY pearl headband and Tiffany & Co. diamond stud earrings, as well as her diamond engagement ring and wedding band.

Williams' pregnancy announcement came less than a year after she announced her retirement from professional tennis, having played her final match at the 2022 US Open in August. In an August 2022 Vogue essay, Williams announced that she was "evolving away from" competing as a tennis pro, saying she wanted to focus on her family and "other things that are important to me."
