When Gomez first unveiled the painting, celebrity producer Benny Blanco thought it was definitely a 'Basquiat'.

The fascinating friendship between Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez has captured the hearts of many for a while now. The duo just took it up a notch by revealing a recent gift Swift gave to Gomez. Speaking with her husband, Benny Blanco, at the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast, the actor and singer revealed how she was mesmerized by a handmade painting Swift gave her on her 30th birthday. The clip, shared on March 3, mentioned that the “Blankspace” singer also incorporated a hand-sewn message in it. The 6 words are a warm reminder of how life goes by fast, but as long as you have your people, you’re right where you need to be.

Blanco and Gomez recalled an instance when she had brought items over to their house. It was the first time he had laid eyes upon the painting. Before she could even say anything, the “Eastside” singer shared his awe. “She pulls out this like piece of art, and I'm like, ‘Oh, this is perfect for the living room,’” he remarked. Sharing that he’s an avid fan of art, he admired the details in the painting. “It's like one of the best paintings I've ever seen,” he said, adding that it was made on cloth, depicting a night view of the lake, with the moon and their birth stars. The awestruck husband asked Gomez who made the painting, expecting her to name some grand vintage artist.

“Taylor made this for me on my 30th birthday,” she revealed. He was taken aback. The “Rare Beauty” founder further noted how she had hand-sewn a message on the painting. It read, “Here’s to the next 30 years,” and further added, “To Selena, from Taylor.” It was confusing to figure out what took her heart more, the fact that she had sewn the message on there or that they had spent decades in a beautiful friendship. From meeting back in 2008 to tracking one of the most beautiful friendships ever, this duo has come a long way, according to USA Today.

Gomez’s post of her wedding day, including Swift celebrating the then-bride-to-be, is the most adorable proof. She even mentioned Swift’s “Showgirl era” and added, “Blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later, gator!” On the same episode of the podcast, the “Who Says” singer revealed that one of Swift’s songs, “Dorothea,” was actually about her, according to Harper's Bazaar. She mentioned how the song reflects a lot from their teenage years. “I feel like a lot of huge moments that were self-defining, from family relationships to love to hate, all of it in between, we were figuring it out because I was 15 and she was 18,” she noted.

Now, to look back and compare their present, they went through it all, and wound up with successful careers, great partners, and a life they wanted. The only constant throughout was their friendship. It's a nostalgic reminder that, come rain or sun, life goes on, and when you have the right people, you get by just right too. The PEW Research Center revealed that most Americans are doing well with their friendships. Around 53% noted that they have at least one to four close friends. Only 8% said they had no close ties. 71% of women said they had close friends who are of the same gender.

And these ties are more important than you think. The American Psychological Association points out how these long-term friendships impact our lives. Julianne Holt-Lunstad, PhD, a professor of psychology and neuroscience at Brigham Young University, noted, “When people are low in social connection—because of isolation, loneliness, or poor-quality relationships—they face an increased risk of premature death.” Looking at around 38 studies, it was concluded that good friendships positively impact well-being. Along with reduced depression and anxiety, having a good friend to confide in also changes how we respond to stress — it reduces blood pressure reactivity. So girlies, stay intertwined with your gals. @Taniajacquelinee wrote, “I love this, I’m in tears,  love her friendship with Taylor.” @dafnecantu9807 added, “I can tell she’s longed for connections like these. Genuine friendships & a loving partner.”
