A kind act, even if it's a small one, always goes a long way. When a security guard noticed a patient struggling with foot pain, he kept the need of the man above his own comfort. The incident unfolded at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren, Ohio. Guard Ansley Davenport wanted to comfort the man with hurting feet so he took off his own shoes without a second thought and gave them to him, as per WYTV.

Davenport was working at the Emergency Department's desk when he met the man facing some discomfort with his feet. “I noticed a guy. His feet were hurting. I think he asked for something to drink, we were trying to help him along. I went and got him a bottle of water, and we started talking and he was in there for his feet,” the security guard said. Noticing the man's uncomfortable situation, Davenport asked him about his shoe size. When the man replied that he wore size 12, Davenport took off his own shoes that were size 12 and gave them to the man. He didn't hesitate to help the person at all even when he had to complete his shift without any footwear for 45 minutes.

"Alright, I got a size 12 for you. I took them off, gave them right to him, and I actually finished the rest of my shift in socks. He looked at me and he’s just like, ‘Huh?’ He was just surprised,” Davenport shared. “Especially with a lot of things going on. A lot of bad going on, and it’s always good to be good and give to somebody and pay it forward.” The patient was indeed very thankful to Davenport for helping him and staying without shoes on a cold day.

A wholesome gesture, when done by a stranger, gets more meaningful. In a similar incident, when a couple saw an old lady dining alone at a restaurant, they went out of their way to make her feel loved and appreciated. A woman, Debra Lynn Fugate, shared in a post on Facebook that she was having dinner with her husband at a restaurant when they spotted an elderly lady. “My husband said that she shouldn’t eat by herself. I said, ‘Well when she gets back from getting her food, ask her if she’d like to join us while eating!’” When the couple asked the lady, she obliged. "We talked as if we had known each other our whole lives."

As per the wife, the woman’s name was Linda, which coincidentally happened to be her grandmother’s name. “She also resembled her a whole lot,” Fugate shared. The encounter turned out to be a wholesome meeting that the couple will cherish for the rest of their lives.
