Some of us may never step foot on a plane, let alone in the first-class cabin. However, one social media user was lucky enough to experience that. As part of his work, Imgur user Everythingiscomingupmilhouse had the opportunity to fly first class. Instead of keeping the adventure to himself, he decided to share what his experience was like online. From the indulgent meal and free swag bag, to how difficult it is to be a flight attendant, the user gave us all a look into what flying first class is really like, Bored Panda reports.
The user's thread started with their complimentary drink, which arrived in an "actual glass," as they noted. (In coach, it is not uncommon to receive your drink in a plastic or paper cup.) The user also received some breadsticks. Then, they shared a prior experience they underwent. "Seriously though, a few days ago when we were flying coach, they yelled at a woman for asking for two cookies, and I got trapped in the bathroom for an hour when the door jammed," they wrote. "Now I'm eating little gourmet bread things out of a dish and drinking out of a real glass. Life be funny."
Life is funny indeed. However, that was only the beginning of his flight. Next, they showed what their in-flight meal looked like. Let's just say it was very different from what those of us who fly economy class are used to. In a photo, they showed us everything they were served: lasagna, steak, a side salad, some bread, and even dessert. The meal also came with a mini bottle of olive oil. They noted, "I'm so used to choosing 'chicken or beef.' We each get our own little bottle of olive oil. Like, somewhere they make teeny, little bottles just for this."
Additionally, they shared a conversation they overheard. "Guy next to me mad 'cause his cold salad's cold..." They stated. "Man... Fancy stuff be wasted on rich people. Give it to us poors! We'll be delighted by two cookies." Showing us their "Maldon sea salt flakes," they added, "Even my salt be posh. Like, nah, we ain't pasty granular, we be FLAKES from the SEA." They also snapped a photo of their dessert (which would be delicious even on-ground). "I'll bet they'd even give me two cookies if I asked," they noted. "But that might out me as a secret poor. Must maintain a veil of wealth and resist cookies."
Among other cool features such as a special pocket for "loose jewels" or a "Rolex pouch" and a reading light bright enough for surgery, Everythingiscomingupmilhouse hauled the free swag bag they received as part of the flight. The bag comprised most notably a sachet of coconut oil as well as other cool products, including extra socks, a "miracle mist," lozenges, and a protein dietary supplement. At the end of the journey, they took stock of everything they learned. For instance, they reaffirmed that they would remember how flights could definitely spare a cookie while first-class passengers munched on steak and did "God knows what with coconut oil." They also encouraged folks to send positive feedback about hardworking flight attendants to plane carriers via email or direct messages on social media. They concluded, "Even if there's no monetary award attached, I'm sure the anonymous positivity can only help." (PS: As the user pointed out, there is still turbulence in first class, unfortunately).
