Johnny shared that he loves to cosplay 'Deadpool' because he wants to be his authentic self. That is also why he doesn't wear the mask.

It doesn't take much to show kindness to a person and Ryan Reynolds proved that right with his act. The actor responded to a burn survivor named Jadiant on Instagram who dressed up as his character, Deadpool. Johnny, a resident of Millington, Tennesse, couldn't be happier and shared that Reynolds' response has made him feel much more confident about showing his real self to the world.

The young man posted a picture on Instagram wearing a Deadpool costume and doing a split. In the picture's caption, he wrote, "It would make my dream come true if @vancityreynolds got to see this post! I learned to do the splits just for this photo. Deadpool has honestly made me way more confident." He also explained why he loves to cosplay Reynold's character: "Anyone who has read or watched anything about Deadpool, knows his face and body are pretty messed up. So it’s only natural that I cosplay him."

While cosplaying the character, he wants to be his authentic self and so he doesn't wear the mask. "It so easy to cover up who I am, and to give in to despair," he revealed. He added that the superhero helped him to not care about covering up and instead show his true self. "This is me, and I am not ashamed about it. Deadpool is icy clean, and he’s helped my self-esteem so much. I’m owning who I am, and cosplaying Deadpool makes it that much easier," Johnny expressed.

To the young man's surprise, Reynolds responded to his post. He wrote, "Holy sh*t, Jadiant, this made my year. Can't even describe what this post means to me. Also, I can do the splits... but only once a year. And it has to be in the lobby of a hospital." Johnny couldn't have asked for anything more. He replied to the actor's comment, writing: "@vancityreynolds brooo. I can't believe you have seen it! You made this so worth it. I hope you continue to inspire so many others, it means the world to me if you keep up with my journey. I'm such a big fan."

Johnny shared a screenshot of the Deadpool actor's response in a different Instagram post. People were happy for the burn survivor and celebrated with him. @tearbear_123 commented, "Yay! I’m so happy he reached out to you. You deserve it. You inspire so many. I love your posts." @imperfectionz_r_beautiful wrote, "So happy for you. You inspire a lot of people." @raerainbow expressed, "This is so cool. Yay!! @vancityreynolds is the best. I’m so glad he saw how awesome you are." @anesworld shared, "Really happy for you dude, I still can’t believe you got noticed by Ryan Reynolds damn."

The man opened up about how he suffered 95 percent burns to his body in 2023. He told Bored Panda that he got burned while playing in a barn behind his family home when his dog knocked over a candle used for light. Since then, he has gone through more than 100 operations and even went into a coma for six months. However, he survived and completed his physical therapy after he woke up.

He believes that the experience has made him a caring person and he is using it to motivate others. “No one deserves to be unhappy in the way they look, because we’re all beautifully unique. Just sometimes other flowers get more colors (like us, people who have gone through tragedy) and we just don’t think we fit in with the rest of the flowers. But the truth is, we are the most beautiful of all the flowers. So embrace your different colors, you’re pretty, there’s no one else like you,” he said. He is also a bodybuilder, speaker and medical nurse.
