The mom was feeling quite overwhelmed as she dropped her twin girls off for the first time at school until she received something beautiful from the teacher.
From the first day of kindergarten to the time when a child grows up and leaves for college, parents never get used to the overwhelming feeling of separation from their kids. While it is a task for children to adjust at school among other kids and make new friends, parents also take their own time to get used to not having them around all the time. Tavia Wade, who goes by @taviawade on TikTok, was also going through something similar as a mom, but then a teacher's thoughtful gesture to reassure her left her in tears. She was so touched that she posted a video on social media to show her appreciation for the teacher.
The video with the text overlay that reads, "My daughter's kindergarten teacher made me cry," starts with Wade mentioning, "I was dropping my girls off for the very first time, they are twins. They are going to kindergarten, emotional." The woman then shows a pack of tissues and notes from their kindergarten teacher and adds, "She hands me this. A note with some tissues. I dare you not to cry when I read this." The note has a little poem that goes, "I give you a little wink and smile as you enter my room today, for I know how hard it is to leave and know your child must stay."
"You’ve been with them for many years now, and have been a loving guide, but now, alas, the time has come to leave them at my side," Wade reads further. "Just know that as you drive away, the tears down your cheeks may flow; I’ll love them as I would my own and help them learn and grow." The teacher reassured the mom and wrote, "So, please put your mind at ease and cry those tears no more, for I will love them and take them in when you leave them at my door." She signed off with, "Love, their teacher." Wade said how she didn't cry this time because it was her fortieth time reading the note.
But she does admit, "I was immediately ugly crying. My husband and I couldn't even lift our heads until we were halfway home." She also mentions, "We live like a block away from the school," before adding, "We were both uncontrollably crying. That poem is so sweet, got me deep in the heartstrings. Dropping your kids off at school for the first time is really hard and emotional." The video received more than 183,100 views and over 18,500 likes and People took to the comments section to appreciate the beautiful gesture and share their own experiences.

Good days, bad days I don’t care, I love each and every one of them." @alexiasoto1318 commented, "I’m a teacher and my daughter just started pre-k I know the feeling of first-day feelings that’s why I hug my students and make them feel loved, especially the first days." @sarah.jensen.jordan remarked, "Those teachers are amazing. We loved our son's kindergarten teacher I need to see if she’s still teaching so I can reach out. The boys are now in 8th And 10th grade. I still cry when I drive away."
