Quick-thinking cashier locks up shoplifters and shares a clip of them trying to escape

Stealing is a punishable offense, and each establishment has rules and regulations to prevent such acts. However, as times change, shoplifters have developed innovative ways to steal, regardless of the consequences. Similarly, to combat such issues, workers have found unique and creative ways to raise awareness about this growing problem. Among them, a woman named Maje—who goes by @_a.majeeee on TikTok—works as a cashier at a gas station and recently locked a few alleged thieves inside; their reactions to the tense situation have been trending on social media. 

The viral video, which gained nearly 19 million views, showed a handful of alleged shoplifters trying to break out of a gas station. The group of three included a man wearing a blue hoodie with his head covered, accompanied by two women. Among them, an alleged thief had her hands on a packet of chips while the other two were banging hard on the door, kicking and punching to have it opened. Amidst their struggle to break free, the viral “Funny-Gold-Tiger” tune playing in the background added an oddly entertaining touch to the heated moment. After failing to open the door, the exhausted woman walked toward the cash counter and started yelling at Maje. Her voice was replaced with a funny background score, triggering a laugh riot among the viewers.

Fortunately, Maje was safely behind the glass enclosure, which ultimately helped prevent a confrontation between them. However, the alleged shoplifter remained persistent, shouting at her and demanding an immediate release. In the video, the man banging on the door seemed angry as he started kicking it hard. He eventually succeeded in breaking the glass. They all escaped from there, and yes, the woman with the chips in her hands did not leave the packet behind. The nearly one-minute-and-twenty-second video ended with no cops spotted near or inside the gas station. However, the comments section was filled with keyboard warriors chiming in to provide their hilarious takes on the situation.

Trying to explain what one of the women was yelling, @adamemac wrote, “I think she said, 'Excuse me, good sir, but would you be so gracious and kindly unlock the door? Respectfully, my companions and I no longer wish to be patrons of your establishment.’” Their attempt to decode the mystery earned them applause with over 63,000 likes. Another comment that racked up over 100,000 likes came from @sayhitoyourcapybaraforme, who said, “Why did I think the problem was they weren't pulling instead of pushing.” One more relatable perspective from @quanniesplace was, “I pray that my next relationship is as strong as this door!!” 

Echoing a similar sentiment, @_tyyyyaaaa pointed out the door's ability to withstand all the punches and kicks, asserting, “That's a strong door, lol.” @traumadollbug added, “Where I live, they don’t even let you in the store after a certain time. There’s an intercom, a drop box, you ask for what you want, pay and then they go get it, put it in the box. Coming to everywhere!” There were no reports of any action taken by law enforcement agencies against the suspected shoplifters.
