The professor could be seen teaching the class using a very precise and detailed representation of the human skull.
Artists like Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo were known for their hyper-realistic and detailed works featuring human anatomy. Students of anatomy are expected to learn about human body parts but are not expected to reach that level of precision. However, once in a lifetime, a gifted human appears and leaves us stunned with their artistic abilities just like this anatomy professor who can visualize anatomical detail and represent it through his astounding drawings on the chalkboard. Receiving more than 19 thousand upvotes on Reddit, a video posted by u/NathanWelsh went viral.
The video captioned, "The fact that he can visualize that kind of anatomical detail is astounding" was also uploaded on Twitter by @AvatarDomy. The video is set in a classroom where a student shows the camera the back of a hollow anterior side of a skull. The senior professor seems to be in the process of sketching the exact same skull with different colored chalk pieces. The camera records the variety of different colored chalks he uses. In the second half of the video clip, the professor is seen teaching the class using a very precise and detailed representation of the lateral side of a skull.
People on Reddit were naturally amazed but they also pointed out the assumed downside of having a skill as such. They suspected he might be more occupied with the art of it than the craft of it. "This dude is channeling some serious Da Vinci-level talent into his anatomical sketches. He must have the entirety of 'Grey's Anatomy' completely memorized," complimented u/VapinMason. "Alright he's just showing off lol that's what the pictures in the book are for. Very impressive nonetheless," commented u/makinsteaknbacon.
"When you do something every day and have enough knowledge to profess it usually you’re going to produce this amount of detail," pointed out u/DocBootz. "I appreciate the effort and the talent, but what are the students doing while he’s up there drawing? Or he could make his own drawings once and then project them up on a screen for his lectures instead of drawing them over and over," wondered u/BBQBaconBurger.
Explaining why the drawings are so detailed, u/Oakheart replied, "I assume it’s as he explains he draws the object he explains and adds it to the drawing as a whole. It sure would help me pay attention and learn rather than arrows to a stupid black and white indeterminate object staring at a power point all day." We suppose it could also keep a student's attention intact.

Anatomy is where art meets science and they fit perfectly like pieces of a puzzle. After pictures of his lifelike anatomical chalkboard drawings went viral and people mistook him for a lecturer for the school of medicine, a Taiwanese teacher has become a local celebrity at the school where he teaches. Chuan-Bin Chung, according to Mashable, is a visual design lecturer at Shu-Te University in Kaohsiung, where he teaches classes in illustration, anatomy of arts and painting. Chung uses the anatomy chalkboard illustrations to teach his students about art as well as human anatomy. Chung's illustrations are so detailed and impressive that his students refer to them as a "living textbook."
