Teachers and professors profoundly impact their students, imparting knowledge and life lessons that are cherished for life. The internet abounds with heartwarming stories of famous figures fondly recalling their teachers years later. Recently, an inspiring parting message from one such compassionate professor was shared by Reddit user u/NeedleworkerBrave948. The economics student mentioned they found this note from their professor attached to the back of their last midterm exam.

Professor Sunny started the note by congratulating the students in advance for finishing their "ECON 2003" course. The semester was ending for the students as they were approaching their final exams and the professor wanted to share some important life lessons. They shared their goal of being more than just "knowledgeable" or "experienced"—the mark of a truly good professor. Professor Sunny believes that a good professor should teach effectively and be warm, accessible, encouraging, and caring. Even if the students forget the concepts of Economics they learned in the course in the future, the professor wanted them to remember the positive attitude that was conveyed.

"When you are confronted with challenges in the future, you know tough times don't last, tough people do," the note read. Also, the professor added, "I hope you to be whoever you want to be. You are unique in the whole world." He wanted to remind the students to keep working hard for their finals because he had seen students who scored low in midterms get a B or even an A in the finals. Further, the professor emphasized how students should cherish their families and friends. "The most important thing is that please do not forget to love yourself," he added. Pointing out that one should learn to forgive oneself for past mistakes, the professor asked the students to keep enjoying life as it comes.

Like how the students progressed through the semesters despite some anxious times, the professor wanted them to journey through life with that attitude. "Remember. Life is a collection of moments. The idea is to have as many good ones as you can," the inspiring note read. The professor emphasized the students must not be discouraged by the dark times that may come in life because "there will be light." The professor concluded his words of wisdom by saying, "After this semester, when we meet, I am not your professor but your friend." He also added that the students can approach them anytime for help. The thoughtful professor ensured that every student in his course ended the semester with an optimistic attitude.

"I appreciate the profound statements from this class farewell letter, including, 'Tough times don't last, tough people do' and 'Hard work may not always result in success, but it will never result in regret,'" noted u/habiba2000. "School lessons come and go from memories, but life lessons stay," said u/DangerousCoast31. "These onions again! What an amazing note and wise words," lauded u/something-strange999.
