While the old man himself needed money, he came forward to help a stranger who wanted some change for a bus ticket.

As the saying goes, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you," life will always repay your kindness with kindness. There are people in this world who never hesitate to help someone in need even if their own life is full of trials and tribulations. In fact, people who have faced the worst situations in life know better than others that a small yet timely favor can be life-changing for someone. Zachery Dereniowski (@mdmotivator), a TikTok influencer popular for his random acts of kindness toward strangers, posted a heartwarming video where a wheelchair-bound senior citizen named Michael, who himself was destitute, offered to help Zachery with his bus fare.

In this video, Zach finds Michael on a sidewalk asking passersby for help. Zach approaches him saying, "How are you doing sir?" to which Michael replies, "Trying to make some money." As they introduce themselves to each other, Michael expresses his situation saying, "I got till tomorrow 12 o'clock to pay my rent." He then tells Zach that his rent amount is $195.

Those who follow Zach on TikTok know that he has a distinct way of helping people. He first approaches the person asking for a favor and once they offer to help him he surprises them with a goodwill gesture. The same happened with Michael too. After Michael told him his rent, Zach said, "I'm a quarter short for the bus" to which Michael instantly replied by asking, "Do you need it?" pointing to the pennies in his plastic cup. When Zach doubtfully asks, "Can I have a quarter bro?" Michael, without a second thought, responds, "Of course you can," and even expresses his concern asking, "That's all you need?"

After lending the quarter to Zach, Michael, being the thoughtful patriarch that he is, informs him, "You can get on the bus for free, but it's good to have it in case (if necessary)." Zach then assures Michael that he is going to return the quarter later but Michael says, "No. Whatever you need it for, take it." It's amazing how generous Michael is despite going through a rough patch himself.

Zach was extremely moved by the old man's big-hearted act and expressed his gratitude saying, "The fact that you were going to help me, man," and revealed that he's got $500 for Michael. On seeing Zach's offer, Michael was in tears and also wanted to ensure multiple times that this was for real and not a joke. Zach assured Michael saying, "It's for you brother. Dead serious, man," and lends him the $500 dollars. When the influencer asks him to send out a message to the world, Michael tearfully says, "Let's have peace and love for everybody. Colour means nothing!"

Zach set off a fundraiser with this TikTok live video and mentioned in the comments "100% of all funds raised will go towards paying Michael’s rent and living expenses so he never has to be on the streets again." People were moved by the kindness shown by both Zach and Michael. Many conceded with the old man's "Color means nothing!" remark. "He deserves all the blessings because he’s struggling but didn’t hesitate to help someone else! He’s perfect and deserves a good life. God bless you both!" wrote @sinshine. "Amazing how we sometimes take things for granted. This makes me want to be a better person to the society," commented @rcandanoza. In a follow-up video, Michael was gifted some groceries and Zach offered him the $44000 which was raised from the live video backed by GoFundMe.
