Ignoring weather warnings and going on a long drive might seem thrilling, but it's a dangerous gamble with lives at stake. Adverse weather can quickly turn fun adventures into deadly disasters. In a related incident, an unnamed Mercedes driver caught attention on social media after Merseyside Police's Roads Policing Unit (@merpoltraffic) shared a picture of the car completely covered in snow. The driver was spotted channeling Jim Carrey's iconic "Ace Ventura" character during a yellow weather warning.

"Just when you think you have seen it all! This vehicle was being driven exactly as you see it in the picture with the driver hanging out of the window 'Ace Ventura' style," the police force shared, underscoring the impetuous risk of driving in such harsh weather. Merseyside Police condemned the driver for performing such a deadly stunt and wrote, "We didn't think we needed to say it, but that is simply not acceptable and the driver has been reported." The X (formerly called Twitter) post received an overwhelming response on social media with several netizens reacting to the driver's unbelievable stunt.

For instance, @lisakeb007 wrote, "I can’t believe that - most Mercedes have a heated windscreen function. Did you make sure the car was his when you were telling him off?" Similarly, @hannahC68959767 commented, "OMG! What on earth is wrong with people and what a gross waste of police time... More common sense from the public please, if you can't clear your windows you can't bloody drive." @brian70362077 wrote, "Wow! I thought I'd seen it all as well. The driver certainly didn't see anything. Totally unacceptable." On the other hand, @geordierover83 wrote, "Genuine question. What law did he break? If he was hanging out and was able to see his surroundings. Is it an offense to lean out of the window? Yes, I know it's stupid what he did. I'm just curious as to what he was charged for."

@steviethefixer wrote, "And it probably has a heated windscreen (my humble little city car has) and two minutes of that plus a window squeegee and a cloth and good to go. Or de-icer (which is really cheap. I use it mainly for cleaning brake components 2x each year minimum)." @allen_tanya wrote, "They never think of the consequences. You can even use a plastic store card to remove ice, easily, after a couple of minutes of warming up the engine and having the fan on. There is no excuse." @sarahconstabl19 wrote, "Just seen a car that looked like it had a red blanket over the windscreen but no it was a red tint- could not see the driver at all. Thought tints were banned on windscreens?"

Meanwhile, on a lighter note, the police force followed up with a playful tweet featuring a picture of a police dog, Mo, attempting to mimic the driver’s stunt. The canine was seen sitting in the driver's seat, peeking through the window. They wrote, "Can you believe it? We have just been in the yard and caught @MerPolDogs Police Dog Mo, doing exactly the same thing as he gets the cars ready for patrol." They added that Mo wouldn’t be receiving any "extra treats" but would instead be getting an educational talk from his handler for his antics.
