Sewer worker made innocent joke while unclogging their drain. Wife's reaction made him realize he'd accidentally exposed her husband's affair

The truth always comes out — one way or the other. Mike Silveira, who works for Sewer Squad Plumbing (@sewersquadgta), knows it all too well. On June 26, the company posted a video recounting how he accidentally caused a divorce after attending to one of their clients. Well, it all happened when a woman called Silveira to fix her backed-up main line. Like usual, he arrived and did his job, but when the client asked what caused the blockage, his answer made her go white. The story has received 165,000 views on Instagram. 

A drain full of secrets

This was not the first time Silveira had seen some crazy things come out of people's drains, but it might be the first time it broke a marriage. Silveira said that he received a call about a backed-up main line and went to work on it. When the woman came out to ask what caused the blockage, Silveira humorously said it was "a whole bunch of non-babymakers." He could tell she was shocked by the answer, so he followed up with, "Is that bad? Her face was dead serious when she told him that they don't use condoms. All Silveira could muster up was a weak "Sorry?"

The clues say it all

In 2024, DatingAdvice.com surveyed more than 1,000 people in a relationship to see if they've ever cheated or been cheated on. The results found that 83% of the respondents were involved in a cheating relationship. However, the most common ways cheaters were caught were through text messages (22.94%), suspicions (21.83%), and through friends or family (21.28%). Additionally, 19.82% confirmed that they discovered their partners cheating because of perfume receipts, flowers, or condoms. Nevertheless, the data goes on to show that liars and cheaters almost always leave behind clues that eventually expose them in the most unexpected ways. 

'You did her a favor'

Meanwhile, people in the comments praised Silveira for telling the truth, and assured him that he wasn't the cause of the couple's possible divorce. For instance, @littlefoxlife commented, "It is not your fault that a grown man didn’t know you can’t flush those. You did her a favor." @oldmanglasses added, "If anything, you just pointed out something she would have found out eventually. You just sped up the process to her happiness away from that nitwit." @charlizar wrote, "If the husband was actually smart, he wouldn't throw latex down a f****** toilet. I just know that the husband was shitting bricks when they had to hire a plumber, and maybe hoped the wife wouldn’t ask what clogged the toilet."
