The pop singer shares 6-year-old son Jameson and 12-year-old daughter Willow Sage with husband Carey Hart.
Pink has always celebrated her uniqueness. Now, she is teaching her children the same lessons on self-love and self-acceptance. The 44-year-old never shied away from experimenting with her own sense of style in her decades-long music career. So when her 6-year-old son Jameson Moon was teased at school for having long, blonde hair, she gave him some valuable advice.
"With my son, this was a seminal moment: He's like, 'Mom, everyone calls me a girl,'" the "So What" singer explained in a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times. "And I'm like, 'That's because you have long hair, buddy, and people are still hung up on these really old-fashioned societal norms.'" She also explained how people mistake her for a man due to her short hair, but she doesn't care about their first impressions or opinions of her.

"I told him people call me 'sir' all the time, especially from behind and especially at airports," she continued. "And he looked at me and was like, 'Really?' I said, 'Yeah. I don't care. Call me 'sir,' call me whatever, just stay out of my way. He liked that. And now he gets called a girl and he just looks at me and winks."

The mom-of-two had a similar conversation with her older daughter as well. The pop singer shares 6-year-old son Jameson and 12-year-old daughter Willow Sage with husband Carey Hart. While taking the stage at the 2017 MTV Music Awards, she told the audience about the time when her daughter told her she felt ugly "because I look like a boy," reported TODAY.

The "Cover Me In Sunshine" singer revealed that she went back home and made a PowerPoint presentation for her daughter, which included some androgynous rock stars and artists. Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, explained to her that these stars too were probably made fun of every day of their life, but they remained true to themselves. The singer reportedly included Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Prince and George Michael in her presentation.
The singer-songwriter also talked about the many times people used to make fun of her appearance. "They say that I look like a boy, or I'm too masculine, or I have too many opinions, or my body is too strong." She then asked her daughter, "Do you see me growing my hair?" She made sure to impart a lesson of self-love and told her daughter that she would never change the way she looks for the sake of others and added how she's still "selling out arenas all over the world."
The "Never Not Gonna Dance Again" hitmaker went on to recall what she finally told her daughter at that moment. "So, baby girl, we don't change," she recounted, as the audience cheered for her. "We take the gravel in the shell and we make a pearl." Pink added that we should help others change so that they can also see "more kinds of beauty."
She concluded her speech by addressing other artists in the room, "Thank you for being your true selves and for lighting the way for us." "And you, my darling girl," the singer said, pointing to her daughter, who was sitting with dad Carey Hart in the audience, "are beautiful and I love you."
