Power Rangers have often been seen fighting evil wizards and space monsters on television shows; however, this Pink Ranger decided to wipe out white supremacist dating sites and has been earning praise online. A hacker who goes by the pseudonym Martha Root, dressed as a Pink Power Ranger, deleted three white supremacist websites during a talk show at Germany's Chaos Communication Congress, as revealed by Daily Dot on January 7.

Hacker Martha Root decided to erase three white supremacist websites during a talk at Germany's Chaos Communication Congress. Root, who shared the stage with journalists Eva Hoffmann and Christian Fuchs, who worked for the German weekly newspaper Die Zeit, shared that one of the websites, WhiteDate, was known as the "Tinder for Nazis," while WhiteChild was known for matching white sperm and egg donors. The third website, WhiteDeal, was described as "a freelance labor marketplace for racists," per The Cyber Express, where people were hired on a per-task basis, with the name hinting at the nature of these quests. During the YouTube Live, Root pulled out a Python code script and typed commands to erase the websites' data and other back-ups. The video features Root deleting the date, which met with immediate applause from the audience present, as revealed by Pink News

The administrator of the three websites quickly took to X to share the update and slammed the hacker for deleting their websites. Calling it cyberterrorism, they wrote, "No wonder some of them hide their faces. But we will find them, and trust me, there will be repercussions." A 2013 study published in the Journal of Security Information examined how virtual communities, such as certain dating websites, support extremist movements by framing involvement as a psychological process. The study uses a case study of the Radical Right to highlight how the internet promotes engagement and encourages recruitment into extremist groups. According to the data, many websites are dedicated purely to 'White Pride' dating services, such as EuroDateLink. The researchers stated that, "by encouraging others to date within their own race group, members promote the ideology of the group as important in relation to life decisions outside of the virtual realm." The dating apps wiped by Root promoted white supremacy, and the intention behind these websites was not noble.

Retaliating against the admin's statement, Root took a jab at the website and said, "poor cybersecurity hygiene that would make even your grandma's AOL account blush." In the data allegedly taken from WhiteDate, the material included names, photos, and other details of each profile. Root mocked the users for calling themselves "master of race" while failing to secure their own website. As per Yahoo News, WhiteDate had an active following of 6,500 users, out of which 86% were men and 14% were women. Root sought the help of AI to get through the verification process and was able to access the website data.(Image Source: X | @rriggg)

The powerful stunt pulled by the 'Pink Power Ranger' received huge praise online. @tracketpacer wrote, "Deleting a white supremacist dating site live onstage while dressed as the pink Power Ranger has got to be one of the most cathartic hacker experiences." @chaelor commented, "They should have doxxed the users and admins first, provided they didn’t." @HeadCannon1776 wrote, "The funny thing is the only people who were on the site were African Americans and Mexicans cosplaying as white supremacists."
