'I suppose Keely is my North Star, always looking out for me,' the celebrity said.

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan is head over heels with his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, despite her tremendous physical transformation. He believes his love for her has only grown over the years, deepening further after she gave birth to their kids. That being said, Mrs. Brosnan, who leads a very private life away from media attention, faced criticism when someone named Steve, who goes by @loverism__ on X, posted side-by-side photos of the couple from many years apart. Steve went all out, mocking the star wife for her weight. "Dear men, this is your daily reminder to avoid marriage," he wrote. But Mrs. Brosnan really does not need to pay any heed to such trolls, because her husband definitely has the perfect response to those making fun of her weight.

It's not the first time Smith has faced public scrutiny over her weight gain; in fact, in 2022, comments became so hateful that her husband shared a post on Facebook, defending her. The post, now deleted, had the "GoldenEye" actor speak about how he had no complaints about how his wife looked. "Friends offered her surgery to reduce her weight. But I strongly love every curve of her body," Brosnan wrote. He continued describing her as the most beautiful woman in his eyes, especially because she bore his kids. "In the past, I truly loved her for her person, not only for her beauty, and now I’m loving her even more because she is my children’s mother, and I am very proud of her, and I always seek to be worthy of her love," the actor added. Mrs. Brosnan, too, has never been embarrsed for how she looked; instead, she has always taken great pride in her looks. "I never shy away from... my curves. I never hide in baggy clothing," she told Vogue in 2006.
Yes do! Very few of you men understand what it is to love a woman. And when you witness it with actual adult men, you try to belittle it by reverting to ‘men should only be with very VERY young females’. 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

Brosnan was previously married to Cassandra Harris, who died of ovarian cancer in 2013. Two years later, he met Smith, an American journalist in Mexico, and fell for her almost immediately. The actor even confessed that his second wife helped him get over the grief of losing Harris. "Keely has always been kind and compassionate and encouraged me to mourn Cassie. I suppose Keely is my North Star, always looking out for me," he said. The couple, despite going through so many personal struggles, stand strong as a testimony to true love, which sadly is very rare in today's world.

Just like Smith, people, especially women, are heavily mocked for their appearance at home, in the workplace, and everywhere possible. In America, it's apparently pretty common. A Yahoo health survey found that 94% of teenage girls in America have been shamed because of their body weight. The study also exposed a strong gender difference in how people perceive their bodies. They found that while 60% of men seemed comfortable with their appearance, 66% of women reported either disliking or having a conflicted, love-hate relationship with their bodies. "Within our culture, it’s fair game now to comment on a woman’s weight, regardless of her age. It used to be that only happened for women who highlighted their bodies, like models," body image expert and psychologist Sari Shepphird explained, talking about the growing public scrutiny women face because of their weight.

Netizens were angry at the user's audacity to mock Brosnan's wife for her weight gain; they, in fact, called him out for disrespecting their beautiful relationship. For instance, @realbritthughes said, "Agreed. If you're this shallow and stupid, you should avoid marriage at all costs. Sincerely, women everywhere." @therealmissjo wrote, "She is the mother of his children. He has said many times how much he loves her. If you are fickle and shallow, then you would be better off unmarried and without children, and let your bad genes vanish." Similarly, @0Lsm0ky wrote, "Is this the same woman in both pics? I just see Beautiful and Even More Beautiful (as most men see their brides after 20+ years)... What's the issue here? He's a blessed man. (so am I)."
