True to her good spirit, she accepted fate, not knowing her boyfriend had planned an even better surprise that left her stunned.

Staying composed during stressful situations without reacting impulsively is an ability not everyone possesses. When Zoey (@nurse.zoey) was informed by her photographer that the photoshoot she had planned would be canceled, her face sank for a moment, but she was not disappointed with the photographer. True to her good spirit, she accepted fate, not knowing her boyfriend had planned an even better surprise that left her stunned. Sharing her vlog on November 9, Zoey's video has garnered more than 200k likes on Instagram so far.

Zoey was all dolled up in a pastel pink dress and had even gotten her hair, nails, and makeup done for a "graduation" photoshoot after she completed her residency in nursing school. In the video, the 23-year-old nurse and lash technician can be seen being driven around by her boyfriend as they tune in to peppy songs while Zoey grooves to them, looking excited for her photoshoot. However, they soon receive a call from the photographer stating that, due to unforeseen circumstances, they may have to cancel the event. Unbeknownst to Zoey, the woman who had called was actually the florist for her upcoming proposal. Zoey can be seen getting visibly upset over the photoshoot being canceled, as she wrote, "Me immediately feeling bad for my friends who woke up at 4 p.m. to surprise me with glam only for the photoshoot to get canceled."
Zoey quickly recovered, composed herself, and reassured the photographer that she was alright. After the call, she decided to check with her friends if they could take pictures with her own camera. However, her boyfriend jumped in to reassure her that he had something else planned. They started playing wedding songs in their car while Zoey vibed to the numbers, clueless about the surprise ahead. On their way, the boyfriend questions if she's able to recognize the spot they're headed to, which is when it dawns on her — it was her favorite place!

A 2016 study from PubMed noted that self-compassion was linked with lower perceived stress under higher amounts of stressful life events. The study stated that compassion is not a fixed personality trait but a capacity that can be developed through appropriate training. The study also suggested that enhancing self-compassion's stress-buffering properties can be useful for dealing with stressful events and reducing stress responses. By not bursting out at the photographer for canceling her photoshoot and being considerate and understanding, Zoey was able to turn a stressful event into something positive.

Online users who watched her way of handling the situation lauded her reaction. @evelyn_foskett777 wrote, "Bro she is such an angel for her reaction." @becca.jaclyn commented, "Her personality is amazing! You did so good dude. She is beautiful inside and out!!" @cyre.marie wrote, "LOOK this is my first impression of you, and it was inspiring how you took disappointment on the chin so graceful."
