When people saw a young kid looking for his father, they came together to help the boy with immense love and care.
The spirit and aid of the community are enough to solve most problems in the world. If people come together to tackle a problem, the world will become a beautiful place to live in. A beautiful example of this is what happened at Plaza Dorrego in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The community came together to find the dad of a lost kid and ended up reuniting them. The video was first posted on Reddit by u/evaraw666, one of the people in the crowd. However, it has now been deleted.
The child, Juan Cruz, was separated from his father, Eduardo, according to My Modern Met. The video began with Cruz sitting on a man's shoulders, teary-eyed, and people were seen clapping and singing around him. It is a common practice in South America where the child is made to sit on the shoulders of the tallest man in the crowd and the rest of the people around start to clap to bring attention to the kid. In this case, a band started playing music and everyone was singing, "Eduardo! Eduardo!" and clapping. The man with the boy was also chanting and clapping with others. Toward the end of the video, the dad was seen walking up to his son and giving him a tight hug. Cruz seemed relieved at that moment. Meanwhile, people continued to sing and clap.
The one-minute and twenty-second video garnered 31k upvotes on Reddit, posted two years ago. It was captioned, "Juan Cruz got lost yesterday in a crowded area of Buenos Aires.. everyone helped him until Eduardo showed up." People on the platform were touched by the community's kindness. u/haebak shared his own experience, "I'm from Argentina, when I was a child, maybe 5 years old, I got lost on a beach, so I went to a random lady and told her I had gotten lost, so they did this for me (getting me into someone's shoulders and clapping) and I was found a minute later. It works wonders and encourages children to ask for help to be found instead of wandering around on their own."
u/thesukis wrote, "Wow, Eduardo must be really good at helping lost kids find their parents if everyone was so happy to see him." u/top-recognition3448 commented, "This is how we do it! It's common, also, if a kid is lost on a (very) crowded beach, then someone picks the kid up and everyone starts clapping to draw attention. Then all parents start looking around for the kids. There's always a quick reunion. Works great!" u/mouldar expressed, "This quickly changed from trauma to good memory for the child."
u/throwawaymartineztetaz said, "I can proudly say that this is a very widespread and common practice in our country. We do many things wrong, but there are a few that we do right. Glad to know other people can see the better side of our culture." The same video was posted on X by Jere Madrazo @jeremadrazzo. It is a testimony of how important a community is for a child's upbringing. In this case, the child could trust the people around and they reunited him with his father. Practices like the one shown in the video could help kids to feel secure even with strangers.
