She shared a series of emails received from potential dates who tried to put their best and most professional foot forward.
Online dating platforms have opened up avenues for people to meet more like minded individuals until they find the one. Since there are a lot of people to choose from, everyone makes sure they put their best foot forward to grab the attention of a potential partner. This can range from posing for pictures to writing impressive bios and hilarious pick up lines. But when a woman left her email ID on a dating profile, she wasn't expecting the creative proposal that came her way. Sophie Mooney who goes by @sophiemooney85 on TikTok shared a series of screenshots consisting of emails from people asking her out on a date.
In response to the prompt, "The best way to ask me out is by," she wrote, "Shoot me an email at sophiemooney22@icloud.com with a date proposal.Best wishes, Sophie. In response to this, a person called Chris wrote, "Hi Sophie, Glad to have been introduced by Hinge." He continued, "I am free Monday to Thursday next week for a F2F meeting. I've cc'd my work email so I am kept in the loop. Please let me know your availability." Mooney confirmed her availability but unfortunately, Chris had to take a rain check on the F2F meeting because of his busy week. He wished Sophie a "good week ahead" and asked to meet next week.
Another person remarked how they were impressed by her "CV" while swiping through Hinge. The person revealed that after discussing her application with her "future in-laws" they had spotted the following green flags. "Brunette, very much my type. Sense humor, email application has been very funny so far. Dog lover." The person also joked about a red flag in Mooney saying that she wants to know the person's toxic trait and that could be perhaps her toxic trait. "I would love to discuss this minor setback in your application over drinks on Friday 14th June at 8 pm at Flat Iron Square by London Bridge." The person called Joe also encouraged Sophie to ask any further questions she might have.
Then someone called Jack wrote a series of "Please" in his email requesting Mooney for a date, while another individual wrote an application complete with pros and toxic traits, listing out everything they bring to the table. Another person called the opportunity to send an application an "unmissable" one. The proposal had both philosophical and poetic undertones. Another potential date wrote a short story on Sophie in the proposal titled, "The Proposal: A short story (based on a real-life Hinge Profile)." Funnily enough, Joe's PA, Linda, reached out to Sophie to talk about a potential date and suggested that they could also get drinks as friends if a date was not on the cards.
People shared amused reactions to the hilarious posts in comments. @slimlinechronic wrote, "I love how some treated you like a coworker, some like an applicant and some like a potential employer." @jasmine_28010 commented, "Love this! But I am too scared to give out my email address, lol." @millicentgw expressed, "As a corporate girlie I fear I would have too much fun doing this." @shanietyrello remarked, "I want to do this but am stressed because what if I don't fancy them." @yecats22 pointed out, "Joe was the star. Solid plans from the start."
