Pet parents would choose their fur babies over humans in the blink of an eye—a choice exemplified by a Reddit user. Even though many might criticize her actions as a bit too extreme or irrational, once people go through the story behind her picking the elderly cat over her fiancè and his pregnant daughter, her actions seem self-explanatory. u/Wise-Hall2842 shared an emotional yet difficult decision she had to take after her fiancè's daughter mistreated her pet cat.

She asked the community for their opinion on whether or not she was in the wrong for kicking out the pregnant daughter of her fiance. The 35-year-old woman wrote the post in a rush from the waiting room of a vet clinic. She started describing how her 45-year-old fiance of three years has two daughters. The elder daughter, whom she decided to refer to as 'Kate' for the sake of the post, was a lovely girl, but the 19-year-old younger daughter called 'Kim,' who was pregnant, apparently always had a nasty attitude.

"Kim is 3 months pregnant and living with us because we have more room for her and the baby, the baby daddy stays sometimes, but he has two jobs along with studies, so it's mainly been me who has been taking care of her," the woman wrote. "Today, her boyfriend came over, so my fiancé suggested we let them have the house to themselves and go for a walk. About two hours later, I came home and noticed my cat missing, who Kim hated and wanted me to get rid of." The cat named "Whiskey" is an elderly cat who apparently ran out the door, according to 'Kim's' claims.

"I checked the ring camera and as expected, Kim threw Whiskey out and then ran her off. My fiancé tried saying Kim is pregnant, her hormones are all over the place and pregnancy brain messes with women that he was gonna bring up getting rid of Whiskey for the baby's sake anyway," she continued. She teared up and angrily confronted 'Kim' by telling her she had an hour to find Whiskey or her stuff would end up in a dumpster. However, Kim was unfazed, so the woman went out to find her cat and thankfully, discovered her hiding in bushes. When the fiance said Kim deserved an apology, the woman told both of them to pack up and leave because she was not at fault.

Netizens applauded her for sticking to her elderly cat and giving the dad and daughter what they deserved. u/BetweenWeebandOtaku praised her and wrote: "As a cat owner, I salute you. I mean, you might lose the relationship over this, but from the sounds of it, if this doesn't do it, something else likely will." u/Walktothebrook commented: "Stepdaughter attacked your defenseless cat and got what she deserved." u/Bubbly_Chicken_9358 added: "Pregnancy hormones do not cause you to be cruel to an elderly pet. That's just vicious entitlement and garden-variety meanness. You don't owe her an apology." Further, the woman updated the post to everyone's relief, that Whiskey was fine and just a little shaken.
