Bullying can never be justified, as it affects a person adversely, be it a child or an adult. Similarly, a woman, u/parking_Ocelot_902, wrote on Reddit that her 41-year-old sister was getting married to her 14-year-old son's bully's father, which deeply affected the child. Due to this reason, she refused to go to her wedding. She started the post by saying that her sister is getting married to her partner of three years in a month.

She shared that her sister and her soon-to-be husband have children. Her sister has a 14-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, whereas her partner has a 14-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl. "The relationship is controversial," wrote the woman. She then spoke about how her sister's partner's daughter bullied her nephew since the third grade. "This actually escalated when they were doing virtual classrooms. She would write a lot of insults about my nephew and use the voice feature to target my nephew. But still, my sister and her partner started a romantic relationship and even moved in together," she said.

The sister went on to write that her nephew was upset about his mom's relationship and so were his grandparents. "My sister stopped all contact with the paternal grandparents as a result of them speaking up," she revealed. Later, when the sister and her partner got engaged, her nephew didn't take that well. She opened up, "There was a public scene where he told everyone present that she was marrying his bully's dad and didn't give a sh** about him." "My sister was furious. My nephew was devastated that his mom was marrying her partner, even knowing how he'd feel." The woman then said that her sister didn't want to hear from anyone about why getting engaged with her partner would end her relationship with her son. She wrote, "She told me he didn't get to dictate her life and they'd deal with the bullying, but he was being unreasonable about everything. I told her my nephew deserved space away from the girl and she told me he can't pick his family and siblings fight sometimes."

Due to this situation, the woman shared that her nephew ran away from his house and was gone for 2.5 weeks. She revealed that he wanted to go to his grandparent's house but was worried they might get into trouble. She said, "CPS intervened when he was found and my nephew was removed from my sister's home and was given a placement with his grandparents, which was his first choice." The kid's aunt said that she has been talking to him since and he was happy that he was removed. "We're in touch frequently and I get to visit him. My sister could visit, but my nephew doesn't want to see her. But she's proceeding with everything like normal. We fought over her picking the relationship over the nephew. She told me I'll never understand," she wrote.

Amidst this, the woman received her sister's wedding invite and she refused to attend. "I RSVP'd no. I made it clear I would not attend this wedding after everything that's happened. My sister and parents told me I should put aside the family troubles and attend or risk the relationship forever. I told them I stand by my nephew over my sister," she said. She asked in the end if she was wrong in doing so. People on the platform supported the woman for her decision. u/boundprincess84 commented, "What your sister is doing is horrible. How do these women continuously pick men over their own children? Good on you for standing your ground and supporting your nephew."

u/wickedangellove wrote, "Bravo to you for standing up for your nephew. He deserves someone who will always choose him." u/coffee-weed-win expressed, "You are standing up for your nephew and showing him that you care for him! Good on you! Keep being the awesome aunt you sound like!" u/floweryindecency said, "You can't change her behavior, sometimes a kid just needs to know they have someone in their corner and you're doing just that. You're being the adult he needs. It's just sad his mother isn't doing the same."
