The mom just wanted her daughter to have some fun with her pony so she allowed her to ride him to school for just one day.

Growing up, children have a variety of experiences that differ depending on their households. One must understand that this is due to their different lifestyles and that’s part of the diversity the world shares. A mom shared on Reddit that she and her daughter loved their experience of having a horse and a pony. However, when the daughter tried to create a memorable moment with her pony on her way to school, fellow school parents seemed to have an issue and called her mom out. u/Tall_Entertainer835 posed a question wondering if she was at fault for simply taking her horse out for a walk to drop her daughter off at school.

The mom shared her background and said that she and her daughter had two horses they raised. They live on the outskirts of the city. Having horses there was not common but quite accepted. She then mentioned that she agreed to let her daughter ride her pony to school since they were unable to take them out for exercise that evening. “We arrived at the school gates and gathered a little crowd, which wasn’t a problem. The pony is very good and lapped up all the pats and strokes from kids,” the mom said. The horse was well behaved and it seemed to be a unique experience for the kids.

However, one little girl began to throw a tantrum. “One girl came bounding over from the year above my daughter and started shouting at me, saying she wanted to ride. I politely told her that she couldn’t because she doesn’t have a riding hat and she would have to learn on a safer horse,” the mom explained. The girl, however, began to bawl her eyes out and create drama, which upset her mother. Her mother then scoffed at the woman for allowing her child to ride a pony to school. The mom revealed, “Her mom looked at me with disgust and said, 'See, this is what happens when you have no self-awareness and bring a f**king horse to a school’ and stormed off, dragging her kid with her.”

While the woman did not react to the pointless accusations, she was taken aback. What’s more, after discussing the matter with her friends, she was led to believe that she was showing off by sending her kid to school on a horse. “My response is that I turn up to the school gates in jodhpurs and boots regularly, so everyone probably knows I have horses; is that showing off too?” the mom asked. She garnered much support from people who recognized that the problem was the child’s tantrum and not the horse.

People were in complete support of the woman and assured her that letting her child have safe and harmless fun with their own horse wasn't an issue at all. u/Listen_2Learn said, “That woman blames other people for her clear lack of parenting skills. She has to manage her child’s expectations. My husband takes our daughter to school on a motorcycle and it draws the same attention without the entitled demanding a ride and rude response.” u/wanderingalphabet said, “The other parents need to teach their kids that you can't always have what other people have. It is a fact of life. Are they gonna be mad at another parent for driving an expensive vehicle?”
