She expressed that everything had been a fight and a struggle with her children, including fighting with each other and being disrespectful toward her.
Being a parent comes with its own hardships it could be anything from sleepless nights, dealing with meltdowns, exhaustion to financial problems. Parenthood doesn't come with a help book so people learn along the way. A mom shared her struggle with parenting and how she ended up screaming at her kids. Annalee—who goes by @annaleegrace15 on TikTok—started by saying in a video that she screamed at her kids in the morning. She explained, "Not just a little scream, but a big full-on screaming right back in their faces.”
She goes on to say that "everything has been a fight, everything has been a struggle" with her kids. "They have been fighting with each other, they have been screaming at me, my 4-year-old told me she hated me because I couldn't tear her page that she asked me to tear."
The mom always thought that the difficult part about being a mother before having kids was sleepless nights and lack of freedom. "It is the pure exhaustion that comes from emotionally regulating 24/7 a day. The patience and strength that it takes to watch these humans combust in front of you and stay cool so that they can regulate and take in all of their emotions for them,” says Annalee.
She seemed guilty about screaming at her children as they were immediately "scared" of her. After which, she sat her two kids down and apologized to them. "You guys know how sometimes you guys get really upset, well Mommy was just really upset and couldn't control her emotions anymore."
The video is captioned, "Being a mom is the most wonderful and humbling thing I've ever done. Every day these little kids teach me something new about myself and I'm just so thankful for the opportunity." It garnered about 862k views on TikTok.
Many in the comments section were supportive of the mom. @the.oakley.house commented, "You are doing so, so, so unbelievably well, mama." @torichristmas said, "Thank you for sharing this. This is the exact day we're having today and I feel terrible. She moves on and I'm melting in a puddle of guilt the rest of it."
@itsmelisap pointed out, "It’s going to happen. I’ve been there. I try and remind myself that gentle parenting is a practice which means we’re still learning too." @thehippywitchychef expressed, "Yes. I feel this 100%today. I’ve been there, mama. Especially today. You are such a great mom!!!! And you are not alone!" @cherylroadway wrote, "Thank you for sharing this. Shows the reality of being a parent. In the end, we are human."
The mom ends the video by saying that she wanted to share it to "remind you that even if you are a wonderful mom or a wonderful dad, you are a human first and we’re going to make mistakes.”
The best part about the mother was that she did not shy away from apologizing after making a mistake. This would set a good example for her kids and they will also want to apologize if they do something wrong.
