All couples aspire to become the best parents for their children. To be the best, people look out for spouses who have the qualities to make the best parents. However, there are no fixed criteria as to who qualifies. Recently, people have been having an amusing debate on who passes off to have these traits to become the best dads. A woman named Kara—who goes by @karathebabynurse on TikTok—shared a video with the opinion that nerds can account for the best dads. This idea caused several people to put their thinking caps on and pitch in with their experiences and thoughts.

The woman mentioned that she has been a mother-baby nurse for over 5 years and mentioned that she has something to share from what she’s seen. While Kara acknowledged the fact that there may be external factors and other differentiations, she feels that certain guys are over the top due to unique factors. “I don’t think it has anything to do with looks or build necessarily. It comes down to what they work for, what are their hobbies and so on,” she said. Moving on to the most crucial point she observed, Kara said, “But dude, if they are nerds.” She cited examples like people who are into computer science, play Dungeons and Dragons and so on.

“If they read, if they are the type of guys who would sign you up together for events, they’re going to be the guys who’ll make great dads anyway,” she exclaimed. Kara agreed that her opinion may “ruffle some feathers” but she strongly believed that the nerdy guys are the ones with the potential to be “good baby daddies.” Several people chimed in to share their perspectives and experiences creating a wholesome thread. Many moms vouched for their “nerdy” husbands. @mrs.kahner said, “Married a hot nerd. Can confirm. He and our oldest son debate Star Wars Lore versus Canon. It’s the best.”

@_jktx said, “My husband is an anime-watching and video game nerd. He is the best dad to our two girls and is so involved with everything they need and I need.” However, there were a few on the other side of the spectrum who thought otherwise. Some moms weren’t fans of how caring and specific the nerdy dads can get. @cashew133 said, “Big caveat. Do not go for the computer science guy who reads stuff like Elon Musk biographies. Speaking from experience." @hannhaandski added to Kara’s suggestion by saying, “Also the men who are already into dad hobbies before becoming dads."

@cxp89 shared more saying, “Can confirm. I married a chemist who loves to read fantasy and plays D&D. He; 's the best husband and dad.” @stephbeck94 said, “This threat is so wholesome it makes me excited to see my nerd husband be a dad one day.” @shells514 said, “I agree but also nurses. My husband is a nerd (Star Wars and Lego) and also a nurse. We’re only 8 weeks pregnant and he’s an amazing dad.”
