Technology has changed the face of modern medicine in more than one way. Since the advent of the internet, there have been various attempts at making it more accurate and effective in treating patients. The medical community also uses social media and the internet to spread more awareness regarding symptoms of various diseases so that they can be prevented on time. Many times, individuals are unable to diagnose their condition properly by stating the relevant symptoms in the search bar. But now, Google Lens has come up with an update that is aimed at increasing the reliability of the tool in identifying skin conditions, as reported by My Modern Met.

The Internet has made it very easy for people to get answers to any question in a matter of a few seconds. Google Lens is used to analyze images in order to search on the Internet. The image recognition technology has gone through an update that will aid people in getting accurate results for the skin issues that they might be facing by snapping its photo. This tool has been designed to help people that find it difficult to explain their condition in words. The users just need either a smartphone or any cellular device with a camera to take a picture of the skin disease.

Google, in its blog, shared about the new feature, “Describing an odd mole or rash on your skin can be hard to do with words alone. Fortunately, there’s a new way Lens can help, with the ability to search skin conditions that are visually similar to what you see on your skin,” Google has aimed to build the tool in such a way that it gives as accurate results as possible for things like a bump on the lip, a line on nails or hair loss on the head which are oftentimes difficult to express in words.

Undoubtedly, this tool is great when it comes to guidance about skin conditions but Google does not want individuals to treat it as a replacement for medical professionals. If individuals feel like their health is at risk then they must seek a doctor as quickly as possible.

There are also other tools that have been added by Lens for various other functions. These functions include the translation of typed or written text into more than 100 languages. This can aid people in understanding the language of any country and not feel like an alien if they find themselves on foreign soil. The lens can also be used to identify monuments and important landmarks like Louvre (museum in Paris) and the Smithsonian (museum in the US). It can be utilised to ease the process of shopping. If an individual has a picture of the dress they want to purchase, they can upload it on the search engine and Lens will provide them with similar-looking options.

The tool will also give the user a list of lip-smacking places in accordance with their mood. Users just need to upload a picture of the food item they want to eat, and Lens would readily give them a list of restaurants serving that delicacy. The lens can also aid users in their homework. If individuals face any problem in solving a question they can upload it on the lens and Google will give them a step-by-step solution. Through this update, Google is one step closer to fulfilling its objective of making life easier for its users.
