Making one's mark in the world of entertainment is not so easy. Of course, talented artists make their way to the top but that might require them to give up some aspects of their old life. One most common thing that many celebrities, especially musicians, change about themselves is their name. Just like how having a unique appearance contributes more to one's fame, having an interesting and one-of-a-kind stage name helps marketing the artist better. Some of the best examples would be rappers like 50 cents, ASAP Rocky, Cardi B, Nas and, not to miss, Eminem.

To think Eminem's parents would have given him that name at birth would be silly because it obviously seems made up. But not many music lovers and even some Eminem fans know the actual meaning behind that name. One individual who goes by u/BurningNFlying on Reddit wanted to know why the "Lose Yourself" singer called himself "Eminem." Posting in a subreddit dedicated for Eminem-related conversations, the user asked, "Does anyone know why he called himself that? I have been listening to him for quite a long time but I never understood why he chose Eminem instead of something like, 'Slim Shady.'"

Turns out, the rapper simply put his intials together. "Marshall Mathers. Two M's. Used to be M&M. Eminem came from M&M," pointed out u/BaltimoreSkater. Explaining further, u/SlipperyMooseCakes said, "He actually use to label his material M&M but changed it when he started to take himself more seriously and garnered attention to avoid an obvious lawsuit." This revelation baffled the user who posted the question. "Wow I feel so stupid now. Thanks though," they added. It may have been a simple play on his initials but the rapper's name sure caused a lot of controversial theories about its meaning.

After the "Rap God" singer rose to fame during the early 2000s, people suggested probable reasons for his unique name. While most rightly guessed that it was an altered version of his initials, some thought it could've been an acronym, as per LadBible. People believed that the singer could've taken a dig at his mom with his name which they guessed would expand to "Every Mother Is Nice Except Mine." However, that wasn't the case. The rapper, during his teens, went by the stage name MC Double M, then started going by "M&M" which later became Eminem.

Speaking of little-known facts about the "Till I Collapse" rapper, his heartwarming letter to Tupac's mother made its rounds on the internet. The "California Love" rapper's mom, Afeni Shakur, was thanked for the kindness and support she showed towards Eminem in the letter shared by u/sakekaasu on Reddit. "You have no idea how much your son and his music has inspired, not only the 'Hip Hop' world but speaking for myself, has inspired my whole career," the "Houdini" singer wrote. He thanked and expressed how Tupac's music uplifted him during dire times and helped him stand up for himself in a critical world. Surprisingly, the letter also included a sketch Eminem made of Tupac and little did we know that the rapper was talented in drawing too.
