A letter telling me all that she loves about me and how I treat her. It was the best. Her birthday was a couple of days after, so, it was very hard making her feel loved and appreciated like I felt when I gave her a shitty Valentine's gift. The second best has to be nothing (different partner). Literal nothing. I bought her some of her favorite candy. But it was great because it showed how our relationship was and I knew she wasn’t the right one for me and I wasn’t the one for her. She dumped me a couple of days later. Couldn’t say I was surprised. u/cbarnes15
My first serious girlfriend made her mom buy me the first and second "God of War" games for the PS2. She was 15 and I was 16, so there was no way for either of us to get it on our own. I've barely ever gotten any Valentine's Day gifts since then, but that was definitely the most thoughtful one. She knew I liked video games, mythology and the ancient Greeks, so she found me something that fits the bill and then got the sequel. I mean, you just don't find someone like that every day. She was a good one. u/[deleted]
When I was like 5, I gave a girl in my class a Tuc cracker sometimes because she never had a lot in her lunch box. The only Valentine's gift I've gotten is a card from her saying 'Thanks for giving me krakers' and I found it about a year ago. u/MrEpicGamerman
Our first Valentine's Day together was probably one of my favorite holidays we've had together so far. I went up to see her for Valentine's Day as well as for her college's winter ball. She got me a bottle of one of my favorite whiskeys (Bushmills), a new tie and matching socks and underwear with lobsters on them. I love seafood and whiskey and I got to wear that tie to the dance. Incredible weekend. u/zpgeorge
A month before she broke up, my ex gave me flowers for Valentine's Day. It's still the only time I've ever gotten flowers. They were violet roses and they were beautiful. I loved them and kept them at my desk until they rotted and she forced me to throw them out. Pretty emblematic of how our relationship ended. I still miss her so much. [u/deleted]
My ex-boyfriend carved a little heart out of wood and painted it red and I think it said something like 'I love you forever' and he also wrote a little poem to go along with it. I was 14 at the time. Still, the most romantic thing that's ever happened to me. u/ijustneedtotalktoyou
Every year, my mom makes this cookie cake with chocolate and strawberries and it's the best thing ever. That's the only 'gift' I've ever gotten for Valentine's Day (so far). Edit: Forgot to take a picture of the first one, but luckily, she made an extra mini one this year. This is the first time she's added the white chocolate, and it's usually in the shape of a heart. u/zaquarius_alfonzo
My then-girlfriend made a scrapbook filled with pictures of us. It wasn't just a photo album either. She made it all from scratch and stuff. She was over at my house and tried hiding it for me to find after she left, but I found it before. u/saucy_totchie
An ex-girlfriend gave me a jar filled with petals and "I love you," written in about 15 different languages. Plus, an album of photos of the two of us and messages. We later broke up because she had to go back to Turkey for medical school. We're still good friends but don't talk that often. (Her new boyfriend is jealous and doesn't like her talking to men. My current girlfriend is pretty chill). u/[deleted]
We don't exchange gifts for Valentine's Day. We just write a thoughtful card to each other and then usually have a nice meal out somewhere. I've kept every single card we've exchanged in the (almost) six years we've been together. Don't really want a present just the companionship and knowing I'm loved is enough. u/PrimalMoose
