The barista's infectious energy spread joy and left a lasting impression on the customers with his kind words.
A little random act of kindness can always brighten up the day. It is not hard, as it just requires a positive attitude and a dash of cheerfulness. A Starbucks employee expressed how one can effortlessly do the same while taking down a customer’s order. Connor Eksteen–who goes by @connoreksteen on TikTok–shared the video of a barista in a jovial spirit having an uplifting encounter with him. The video has gone viral and customers are wishing they’d get this kindness to go with their morning coffees! The video captured how Eksteen placed his order via the machine.
“Can I get two strawberry frappuccinos, please?” Eksteen said. The barista responded, “I don’t see why not! Tell me about the size.” On requesting a grande, the barista commented, “It’s a party, it’s a party,” trying to uplift the customers as they continued to place their orders. “Tell me more,” the employee continued. As Eksteen placed the rest of his order, he added a request of “no whipped cream.” To this, the barista willingly and agreeably said, “No whipped cream because we mean business.” It eventually built up to land a smile on their faces and their chuckles were heard. The barista truly put a smile on their faces and made their day.
While ordering sandwiches, the barista attentively repeated the item and said, “I like it, I love it, I want some more of it. Tell me more.” The rapport kept building and this seemed to be one delightful order and conversation shared between Eksteen and the employee. On requesting extra cream cheese, the barista immediately said, “I don’t see why not!” His energy was unmatched and his hospitality seemed to be just what every person needs and deserves. With the employee’s friendly and welcoming attitude, Eksteen couldn’t help but giggle and smile throughout. Next, the woman with him pitched in on the order, “One banana loaf in its original bag if you have it.”
To this, the barista determinant enthusiastically responded, “A banana loaf, we are not gonna take it out of its original bag, we’re gonna leave it in there.” The customer thanked the barista, but the man was not finished spreading smiles. “No, thank you,” he replied to the customers. Yet again, the duo placing the order can be heard chuckling away in glee. As soon as the barista came to the end of the order, he said, “Get excited. I’ll see you at the window. Goodbye.”
All it took for the barista to simply do his job with a more welcoming and cheerful personality and it truly hyped up the customers. The video went viral on different platforms. Receiving nearly 2M likes and over 11k comments, everyone was in awe of the barista’s dialogues. @kelseynico1e said, “This feels like an engaging conversation with a friend.” @adarlingdreamer said, “This is so wholesome you can tell the barista loves his job.”
However, people were curious and wanted to know who the energetic wonderful man was. And Eksteen did just that. In a follow-up video, he tagged the barista and mentioned that he had been working for 27 years. He also asked his viewers to tag Starbucks to get the man the raise he deserves. @jpthebarista, the man behind it all also posted a video having a hearty conversation about his favorite drink in response to Eksteen.
