Cindy Ware, a woman from Chester County, was sad when she realized she'd lost the diamond ring passed down to her through her late husband's family. Ware figured she dropped her ring during swimming classes and never expected to find it ever again. However, in a miraculous turn of events, she found that her ring had been vacationing in Florida under her neighbor's shoe, NBC10 Philadelphia reported.

Ware was right; she had dropped her diamond ring in the pool. But coincidentally, Coleman, her neighbor, who plays water volleyball in the same pool, landed on the diamond, and the ring got stuck to the sole of his shoe. And that's when things got interesting. For the longest time, Coleman travelled to Florida without any idea that he had a diamond ring stuck to his shoe. In fact, even when he noticed it, Coleman assumed it was glass or a little fake bedazzled gem until a Fort Lauderdale jeweler told him otherwise. "He said, 'Yes, it's a diamond from the 50s or 60s. An older cut, nice coloring. And said, 'This is a good piece of jewelry.' That night, I posted a picture of it in my shoe on Facebook because I thought it was an interesting, amusing story to have a diamond in the sole of my shoe," Coleman said. Thankfully, minutes later, a friend of his reached out, saying she knew who the diamond belonged to, and Ware also confirmed it. "I still don't believe it. It's in my purse now, but I still don't believe it," Ware told the outlet. Coleman said he is happy he reunited her with her very special piece of jewelry. "To be able to add even a little bit more happiness there, well, that's really well," he said.

As special heirlooms are, it is also difficult to keep them safe. In fact, a survey by Atomik Research found that more than half (54%) of Americans own a cherished family heirloom, but half of those owners either don’t know where their heirlooms are or have lost them entirely. However, some people have been very carefully keeping their family heirloom safe for decades. For instance, a survey (by OnePoll on behalf of Shinola) of 2,000 Americans revealed that  42% of Americans reported having a family heirloom that is more than 50 years old.

Meanwhile, reacting to the story, @bryanstone3579 commented, "Yet another story to add to the history of that stone. Hope it gets to bless yet another generation of that family and this story is not forgotten along its journey." Similarly, @inonil309 shared, "I lost my gold ring with a red gem on it, given by Dad when I was 17. I thought someone might have stolen it while I was working, as I used to remove it and keep it on the small tabletop we have in our restroom while I was resting there. After five years ,my mom had seen something shining in the gutter in my garden and found it was my ring. Miracles can happen. If you never steal anything from anyone, your belongings are protected by nature... Karma."
