Do you know what age kids are the best to parent? The answer has never been simple. While there has been much debate on the perfect age, a Colorado pediatrician has made a strong case for a certain age group. Dr. Michael Milobsky, a pediatrician in Castle Rock, Colorado, shared his arguments in a TikTok video about what age of kids is perfect to parent. Milobsky starts with his credentials before making such general claims. "I spend all day dealing and talking to and interacting with people of all ages, [starting] from newborns," he says in the video.
The father of seven believes that it does not get better than eight-year-old girls. "I just have to say, in my own experience as a pediatrician and a parent of seven, the highest form of humanity are eight-year-old girls," Dr. Milobsky states.
He further substantiates this argument with reasons. According to him, eight-year-old girls possess big hearts and have a giving nature. "Eight-year-old girls are magnanimous. They're sympathetic. They're empathetic. They're emotionally mature. They love to help. They love to give. They love to do for others. They’re accepting of everybody. They always — they're the ones who see the sign for the lost cat and want to go find it," he says in the video that has now garnered over 250k views. "They are just the best people," he gushes.
Milobsky then jokes that due to the magic these girls have, the U.S. Congress should be made up entirely of eight-year-old girls. "Honestly, the country would be a better place. I said what I said," he concludes.
The comment section of the video quickly filled with the opinions of many parents. "I feel like 8 is that sweet spot where they’ve aged out of absolute self-centeredness, but the sexist world hasn't ground the whimsy out of them yet," @Lindsay Tucker commented. @Ashley, wrote, "So true. I’m a librarian. Saturday, I saw an 8-year-old girl holding a stressed dad's 6-month-old baby for two hours straight!!! It was the CUTEST THING EVER!"
"And you just explained without apology why I have taught Second Grade for 27 years. They are magical beings," @cabdalla shared.
Milobsky did not leave out eight-year-old boys either. In a follow-up video, he gave his opinions on eight-year-old boys, claiming that their superpower is "intense collaboration to accomplish something."
"They're in the neighborhood with packs of bicycles, going to do something and accomplish something and have an experience or have an adventure. If eight-year-old girls should be running Congress, eight-year-old boys should be running the Army Corps of Engineers," Mibolsky says in the video. He wrote in the caption, "8 yo boys are the 'oceans 11' of childhood. They will come together, pool talents and figure out, just about anything."
Milobsky has indeed given us some interesting insight into the minds of eight-year-olds!
