Bryant Young knocked on Patrick Willis' door and conveyed the news that he had been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
There is a saying that opportunity often knocks at one’s door and when it does, it shouldn’t be turned down. This is quite literally what happened with Patrick Willis when NFL player Bryant Young invited Willis to what would be a life-changing moment. NFL star player Patrick Willis (@thewhinkersmind) shared a video on Instagram revealing that Bryant Young had knocked on his door and asked for him. As soon as he knocked on the door, his sister answered and when she saw the athlete, she let out the widest smile, having an anticipation of what was to unfold.
She slowly shut the door on Young and went in and within seconds, covered Willis’ eyes and got him out the door to meet Young. After a heartwarming conversation, Willis was moved to tears as he discovered that he was going to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for his contribution. He mentioned that his uncle, who had passed away, had long before encouraged him to put in the hard work and receiving the news Young came bearing meant he had succeded in doing just that. The star’s game and talent are now a profound and unforgettable history. The video was reposted on Reddit by @diddidot.
A Reddit user, @cmacmfarland64, also lauded Bryant Young for altering the course of his life. He mentioned how his life was rough and growing up in a tough neighborhood, he had no hopes until Bryant Young came and changed the course of his life. He said, “I am the man that I am today in part because of Bryant Young. I was too young to understand that fat 5’8” kids with little talent don’t go to the NFL but Bryant Young came to our school and convinced me that if I work hard enough, I could. That work ethic changed the way I approached everything. I started running two miles after every practice and started working hard in school. I finished second in my class and played two different college sports. Most of this is because Bryant Young told me that I could be successful if I tried. I love this man.”
Several people applauded the man for his overwhelming and respectful contribution to the sport. He also shared that he is now a teacher but his love for sports has been the most mind-altering experience ever. In another comment, he mentioned, “I tried to do for my guys what Bryant Young did for me. I never knew that it was working until I went to the wedding of one of my former wrestlers. About 8 of my guys were at the wedding. I was in tears driving home as each one of them had pulled me off to the side and told me what wrestling has done for them.”

The Reddit user added that more than the sport itself, the sportsmanship one learns on and off the field is priceless. “To hear them tell me that they say the same sh*t to their children that I said to them was the most moving day of my life. Now, it’s their turn to go inspire the next generation. I f**king love sports! Wins and losses don’t mean shit, but the lessons we learn are amazing,” he exclaimed.
Willis was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame to honor his valuable commitment, hustle and contribution to football and it's nothing less than a dream come true moment for him. He has indeed changed the course of the game through the years and most importantly, inspired many future generations to follow their dreams and succeed in it.
