Parents explain why they kept the birth order of their triplets a secret until the 18th birthday

Triplets, despite sharing the same birthday, often develop a unique bond with the order in which they were born. So, birth order turns out to be a very important thing for triplets and many triplet siblings will be very eager to know the order that they were born in. Janie Hilbert—who goes by @janie.banie4 on TikTok—who has two brothers, shared a video where their parents revealed their birth order. They kept it a secret and decided to reveal it on their 18th birthday. The short clip containing the sibling's reaction has gained 20.5 million views and 2979 comments on the social media platform.

In the short clip, we can see the three siblings sitting and eagerly waiting to know their birth order. As soon as their parents reveal the order, Luke Hilbert, who is one of her brothers, throws up his arms in the air, beaming as he points at the result. Janie is also in disbelief, holding her hands up to her mouth. Wright, her other brother, is also happy to finally know their birth order. As the group comes to terms with finally knowing their birth order, they share a warm hug.

Janie decided to post a follow-up video as many people were curious about the actual order. Wright is the oldest, Luke is the middle sibling, and Janie is the youngest. The triplet's parents, Stewart and Clay Hilbert, spoke to TODAY and explained why they decided to keep the birth order a secret because of their eldest son, Clayton, who was 3 years old when the couple got to know that they would be having triplets.

After the triplets arrived, the parents were concerned that they did not want them to know who was the oldest to prevent any kind of hierarchy among all of the kids. Keeping the order a secret proved to be very easy at first because all four of them were too young to question it. However, it got harder as they got older, which is why they decided to unveil it grandly on their 18th birthday. Even though the siblings know their birth order, they revealed that it hasn't changed their dynamic in any significant manner.
