Losing a child is not an easy thing for any parent. So when 5-year-old Aurora Masters died in a freak accident that happened outside her home in Fort Collins, her parents decided to donate her organs. The little girl had gone out to play when the unusual incident occurred. "She gave me a kiss and hug and then she went outside. This was a normal situation. This was life. She just played," the mom, Krystal Masters, told 9News, talking about the incident that occurred on May 8. No more than 15 minutes later, there was a commotion outside her door as the neighbors rang the doorbell. The mom found the girl near a tree with a swing wrapped around her neck.

"I was begging, please, please don't. This is a good kid. Don't do it," Tom Masters, the dad, expressed. Their daughter was a happy kid and always smiling. The sudden incident left them wishing they could see their little girl smile just one more time. There was nothing that the parents could do. But they came up with a wonderful way to make their charming daughter's legacy live on. The parents decided to donate her organs. "We could give that wish that I was making to somebody else. Like, we could grant that," the dad shared.

"I am proud of my daughter. I was already proud, but she's still giving and that helps me a little bit," the mom said. In a way, the little girl continues to live on. "Her magnetic personality and luminous character, seriously, it was just bright, brilliant, smiling," her dad recounted. "She would wave and smile at other people in traffic to get them to smile, and then she would be like, 'Daddy, they smiled,'" Krystal said, remembering her daughter.

The parents donated the organs to Donor Alliance Group, an organization that is involved in organ and tissue transplants. "We know that Aurora's heart is beating somewhere," Krystal admitted. "It genuinely helps me to know that," Tom added. The girl received care at the Colorado Children's Hospital for five days before she passed away on May 13, as per Fox News.

"Currently, there are 1,300 people in Colorado and Wyoming waiting for a life-saving organ transplant and tens of thousands of more people are in need of a tissue transplant," Donor Alliance spokesperson Heather Burke told 9 News. "One person can save up to eight lives with organ donation and up to 75 lives with tissue donation," Burke added. All her members loved the girl for her sunshine attitude. The family is glad that she can live on differently. A service for Aurora Masters will be held on June 8.

In another similar story, a mom got to hear her son's heartbeat once again after another boy received it as a transplant. The woman's 25-year-old son died in a car accident, so she decided that it would be the best thing to donate his organs and help save lives, as per GMA. The mom felt that her son would have wanted the same. On the other hand, 14-year-old Jean Paul Marceaux received a life-saving heart transplant after being sick all summer. The boy had contracted a virus when he was two that impacted his heart. He had already received one transplant, so his mom felt it might be difficult to receive a heart transplant again.

It was a bittersweet moment for the mom when she received the news of finding a donor because although her son was saved, there must be another mom going through unexplainable grief. So when the 25-year-old's mom wrote to her, she wrote back and they met when it was a good time. The mom shared that the 14-year-old shared many qualities similar to her son's and was glad she could listen to her son's strong heartbeat again.
