Everything in life has a first and a last time, so parents are now reliving the last time they held their kids in their arms in a new trend.

Watching kids outgrow their parents' lap is the most rewarding yet heartbreaking experience for caregivers. While they're proud to see their little humans grow up, they often find themselves quietly missing their tiny arms wrapped around them. Unsurprisingly, everything has a first and a last time, whether it's the first time your baby called your name or the first time you picked them up — everything comes to an end. However, most parents forget about it over time. A viral trend is reminding parents of these 'last time' moments, so they are running to pick their kids up again — and it's heartbreakingly beautiful. Recently, Jessica Jean Skube, a California mom who goes by @jesssfamofficial on TikTok, hopped on the viral trend with her thirteen-year-old twins.

In her video, Skube explained that the boys were born when she, herself, was barely nineteen. The mom confessed to her sons that she doesn't remember carrying them in her arms the last time, and so, she wants to see if she can do it, thirteen years after their birth. Skube recalled how she used to carry both her sons together when they were infants — something she thought she couldn't do anymore. At first, she lifted both her sons, one after the other; then, she attempted to lift both together. After a few trials, the mom completed the challenge and appeared a bit emotional from the experience.

Similarly, Aerielle, who goes by @life_with_aer on TikTok, decided to try the trend with her daughter. The mother was so emotional that she broke down a few times while explaining the trend to her daughter. "In life, we have the first time we do something and the last time we do something... and I don't remember the last time I ever got to do this (picking her daughter in her arms)," she confessed. Her daughter, perhaps a teenager, was almost the same height as her, but she looked equally excited about the trend. Soon enough, she jumped on her mom, wrapping her legs around her, just like she did when she was a baby.
@gracecyjean My baby girl. My whole entire world. With every milestone in her life I get more emotional knowing that means there’s a new “last”. My mama heart is so happy to watch her grow up but it’s breaking at the same time. I just pray she always know that home will always be wherever we are together. #thelasttime #mybaby #lasttimetheory #onelasttime #onlychild ♬ original sound - Jwlpiano_🎹 - 🎹Jwlpiano_🕊️
Then, we have @gracecyjean, who wanted to carry her daughter and remember the last time she did that forever. Surprisingly, more than the mom, the daughter looked emotional; in fact, she broke down, perhaps remembering the times she could easily fit in her mama's lap. The first time the mom tried, she failed miserably, but after a few attempts, she could easily lift her daughter. "My mama's heart is so happy to watch her grow up, but it’s breaking at the same time. I just pray she always knows that home will always be wherever we are together," the mother wrote in the caption.
Meanwhile, reacting to the viral trend, @idgafilove commented, "This got me sobbing real quick. It is so touching and a loving memory that lasts for a lifetime; it is so sweet." Similarly, @bobfort43 shared, "I don’t remember the last time I held my daughter. She is 24 with her own family. I surely don’t remember thinking it was the last time, very sad." @mb15679 said, "My daughter is 3, and lately I have been losing it over her not being a little baby anymore, and this video has wrecked me." @gwenyyy_28 wrote, "For the mothers, it was the last time they would carry their child; for the children, it was the first time they would actually remember it."
