Pamela Anderson is shedding her glamorous persona and opting for a more natural look as she steps out for events these days. The 56-year-old, once an iconic sex symbol, is embracing her natural beauty both inside and out. The model and actor was seen sans makeup at Paris Fashion Week and arrived at The Row runway show on September 27—as well as at the Isabel Marant show the next day—bare-faced, according to TODAY.

In an interview with Elle, the "Baywatch" star admitted that she is leaving behind her "wild and uninhibited" 90s style for a makeup-free lifestyle that has been freeing and fun. "I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older," she said. "And I'm kind of laughing at myself when I look in the mirror. I go, 'Wow, this is really... what's happening to me?' It's a journey." The "Love, Pamela" author expressed that changing her personal style has been "rebellious," but it's also something she said helped her get to "a good place."

Anderson also told the outlet that early in her career, she "just went along with what people were telling me what to do" with how she looked. When her makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, tragically passed away from breast cancer, she decided to do away with her signature look. "She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it's just better for me not to wear makeup." The switch has been "freeing and fun and a little rebellious too," she said. "Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks and it's just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone's doing."

Earlier this year, the former "Playboy" model also opened up about how she feels about aging. Speaking to Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on their podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, she recalled how she never felt like a classic beauty while being one of the archetypal bombshell beauties of the 90s.

"I never felt like I was any kind of great beauty, ever, no. Just a little funny-looking," she said before confessing that she's absolutely on board with everything that comes with getting older. "I can't wait to see myself old," she said, adding, "I always said I'd recognize myself when I was old in the mirror. I want to let my hair go kind of natural gray, put my little straw hat on, don't wear makeup. I mean, that's my comfortable kind of state."

The Canadian-American actress doesn't mind the aging process, unlike others in the industry. "A lot of women, I think, that kind of are these classic beauties have a really hard time with aging. I always felt a little funny looking, so I don't think it's as hard for me and I don't want to chase that and I don't want to do all the crazy sh*t to myself," she said candidly.

The mother-of-two also noticed how people used to tell her that she was too pretty for makeup and now that she's older, they just kind of expect her to wear it. "When I was wearing makeup before, everyone told me not to wear makeup. Now I'm old and now I just want to kind of let it happen," she said.
