Sunbather goes viral for refusing to move as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drew a crowd on Bondi Beach

One woman is going viral for being completely unperturbed as crowds thronged Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on an Australian beach. A TikTok video shared recently by @News.com.au showed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visiting Bondi Beach on April 17, surrounded by paparazzi and a huge crowd. One woman lying on her mat seemed disinterested and unfazed by the fanfare surrounding the Royal couple. Meghan, Prince Harry and their entourage had to walk around the woman and she continued sunbathing, least interested in the commotion surrounding her.

Following their three-day visit to Melbourne, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were at the beach celebrating the fourth and last day of the Australia tour. Things were very different when they visited Australia in 2018. At the time, they were still tagged as “royals.”  Huge crowds swarmed them, throwing lavish receptions, flowers, and flags. This time, however, the salty air of Sydney whiffed out a different flavor. Crowds were still there, but it didn’t seem like a royal tour, as The Guardian also puts it.

From speaking about mental health to serving frittata to homeless women, the trip was more of a cultural exchange than just a royal visit. Markle also promoted her brand As Ever, which sells collections of jams, spice kits, and candles. According to PEOPLE, they also met volunteer first responders at Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club to proclaim support for the organization that worked for the Jewish community during the December 2025 terror attack. They participated in the cooking show Masterchef Australia and dinners, with a ticket costing more than $3,000.

Seemingly unperturbed by all this commotion, this unnamed woman caught the attention of the royals as they walked around her, while she lay on a mat, wrapped in a beach towel.

“One woman’s complete indifference is peak Bondi attitude,” @News.com.au wrote in the TikTok caption. The footage shows the couple plodding on the meandering bed of snow, surrounded by bodyguards and volunteers clad in yellow and red uniforms. While Prince Harry is donning a lavender blue shirt with a pair of trousers, the Duchess is dressed in a striped blue shirt and cream-colored trousers. As they move forward, the prince’s eyes follow the sight of this woman who’s lying midway, wearing sunglasses and scribbling something in her notebook, plainly declaring that not even a royal could disrupt her beach day.

“Well done to that lady for not giving a damn,” a viewer named Paula Dodd commented on Facebook. On TikTok, @sozza63 described the instance as “peak unbothered.” @muj2i remarked, “The level of not giving a f* I dream of achieving.” Another viewer, @father_wizard, recognized the woman as her sister and revealed, “Omg that’s my sister! She thought it was an actor!”
