As much as we love how the internet allows creativity and connection to flourish, the way it harbors bullies and protects their anonymity is a pressing concern. Hiding behind the screens, these digital trolls target innocent victims just for the thrill of it. Though many have the mental fortitude to ignore the bullies, some are so naive that they can't help but succumb to the negativity. When her innocent aunt was prone to such negativity on an online forum, a niece who goes by u/Millenniauld on Reddit decided to take matters into her own hands and how she did it was quite commendable.

Saying how her loving aunt was the "sweetest, kindest and most gentle" woman she's ever met, the niece shared the incident that occurred about 12 years ago. Turns out, the aunt was an avid corgi-lover but never had a corgi of her own. So she joined an online corgi forum where old women share pictures and stories of their dogs. That is where the aunt encountered her bully—referred to by the niece as Donna—who was quite an entitled woman, constantly jeering at those who didn't own a corgi. Things took a sudden turn for the worse when Donna started sending nasty emails to the aunt's email contacts. When the corgi-lover asked Donna to stop being mean, it sparked a fierce debate on the forum.

Donna mercilessly roasted the aunt, hoping to chase the innocent woman out of the forum. That's when the niece decided to come to her aunt's rescue with the most subtle savagery. "I was nice. I was so nice. I started by saying I understand how hard things like this can be when drama comes between friends, and how Donna, as a presumably 16-year-old, has a lot of growing up to do to understand how adult relationships work," the niece wrote. Her response was focused on Donna's immaturity and lack of empathy and grace. She lectured the bully, telling her that she was still "clearly mentally, emotionally and developmentally a child. It was the most saccharine, gentle, condescending and brutal takedown I could manage," she said with pride.

The niece's response mail, which ended with a bit of profanity, left her entire family amused. "My aunt was flustered and chuckling and asking my mom 'She knows Donna is in her 60s, right?' as my mom is cackling like a hyena," she mentioned. Her uncle thanked her for getting her aunt out of the embarrassment and dejection she faced after being bullied. The best part was that Donna was finally kicked out of the forum after word got out about the niece's response mail. "At that point, it was met with laughter, my aunt was wholeheartedly supported and apparently, Donna was given a ban for bad behavior," she revealed. The aunt, thankfully, never got over her love for corgis and continued to be a part of that online community.

People loved this hilarious revenge story. "I feel this deep in my soul! I know that feeling of protecting the precious aka best aunt ever. You did this very maturely compared to some women," said u/Sufficient-Ad44. "Given that the forum is about Corgis I really feel like you channeled your Aunt's spirit Corgi and ripped this woman in a totally Corgi manner! Well done!" lauded u/TheAlienBlob. "Bless your heart for sticking up for your aunt. I loved this story - not the part where your aunt was hurt - but where you hit back at Donna fracturing her fragile ego," chimed in u/wkendwech
