Viewers of a local television station got a little more than they bargained for earlier this month when a segment about hairstylists took a hilarious "when you see it" turn. While Zoom meetings these days feel incomplete without at least one awkward sight popping up behind someone, you probably wouldn't expect to see one on a live news broadcast; much less one involving a reporter, a bathroom, and an unsuspecting naked man in the shower. KCRA-TV correspondent Melinda Meza's husband became the talk of the internet after she accidentally showed him—all of him—to viewers.

The hilarious incident occurred while Meza was shooting a segment for her broadcast from home. Since the segment addressed hairstylists being out of work and people yearning for haircuts amid the lockdown, the reporter thought cutting her own fringes on live TV would be a nice touch. Unfortunately, she made the ill-fated decision to record it in a mirror-filled bathroom while a man—believed to be her husband Mike de Lambert—just so happened to be in the shower. Not wanting to interrupt Meza's segment, a buck naked Lambert patiently waits for her to finish just out of shot... or so he thought.

Neither of them realized that an unexpected combination of angles gave viewers a full view of Lambert—in all his naked glory—reflected on the back of a door behind Meza. "So people won't have to do 'this' much longer," the reporter says in the segment while clipping her fringes and signing off. "In Stockton, Melinda Meza, KCRA 3 News." The segment's anchor—apparently equally oblivious to the unplanned element in the segment—commends her colleague for cutting her own bangs, saying: "Oh she is brave!" Can this segment be even more perfect?!

Eagle-eyed viewers stuck at home with too much time on their hands obviously caught the live TV goof-up and shared it with the internet to spread the "LOLs" among quarantined netizens. While many questioned why Meza chose to film while her husband was in the shower, others wondered why he chose to take a shower while his wife was on live TV. A few others ran with the internet's favorite 'What if that's not her husband?" theory and at the end of the day, everyone shared a hearty laugh.

Twitter user Allied Insurance Agency observed: So...um...he’s following CDC guidelines, washing his hands and so forth. Yeah, that’s the ticket! Following CDC guidelines! NotUnderdog tweeted: How often can you see naked man in shower? on the local news? Poor Melinda! Our local KCRA news was doing a live segment. Meanwhile, user Kevin Ladner joked: If you do any more segments from the bathroom please let me know. Fun and exciting seeing the image or reflection of a naked man in the mirror behind you.

According to Daily Mail, Meza and de Lambert have been married since 2004. Meza, who holds the position of San Joaquin County Bureau Chief, has had 15 years of experience in the field as an anchor, reporter, producer, and photographer. Her profile on KCRA News states that the reporter considers community involvement important and to give a voice to community members. We hope Meza and de Lambert are laughing about the naked shower live streaming incident and orchestrate similar—maybe clothed the next time—surprise appearances in the future.
