A French reporter's dreamy proposal to his colleague on live TV is probably the cutest thing on the internet.
Many people dream of their perfect proposal—a romantic, surprise-filled moment to remember forever. For French news reporter Kémilia Laliberté, that fairytale moment happened in the last place she expected: right in the middle of a live broadcast. In a scene straight out of a movie, her colleague and boyfriend Alexandre Cabana transformed into her real-life Prince Charming, proposing to her on air during a live news bulletin on TVA Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

In the video, Cabana approaches Laliberté with a mix of excitement and nerves visible in his eyes. Unsure of what was coming, Laliberté giggles as he takes her hands and begins to speak from the heart in French. “It's been ten years since we've been together. I never doubted you. Look where we are right now, look at all the family that's here. Look, Kim, I think that together we can be happy, for real. You can be the best person, the best version of myself.” The original conversation was in French but has been translated into English for a wider audience.

And finally, the real proposal moment arrived as Cabana got down on his knees, removed a beautiful ring from his pocket and popped the question, “Do you want to marry me?” With cheeks flushed pink and giggles echoing through the room, Laliberté happily said yes to the proposal and the adorable couple sealed their love with a sweet kiss to mark the beginning of their new journey.
The video which was re-shared on Reddit by u/DecentLurker96, went viral in no time. It sparked an outpouring of reactions from the audience who were moved by the beautiful moment captured on TV. Some people even made some hilarious comments imagining what would have been the situation if the lady had said "no." u/ProposMontreal commented, "Positive content is rare on TVA."
u/theringsofthedragon wished she could have witnessed the moment live and wrote, "It must be epic for those who watch the news live every day and have an attachment to these people. And I imagine these viewers are all in a nursing home. Well, I would have been excited to see it live. A great connection with their audience." u/hymness1 was moved by the heartwarming moment as she wrote, "I found it cute. Congratulations!" While u/rollingtatoo commented, "Imagine she says 'no' live at TVA 6 p.m."
"Very cute. We need sincere moments like this, especially when the news has been bad for a few days," another individual on Reddit, u/Ellaquawatch commented. On the other hand, u/windchill94 was perhaps not very impressed with the live proposal and wrote, "Am I the only one who finds this uncomfortable? What's the point of doing this live on TV other than being sorely deprived of attention?
Meanwhile, a similar incident unfolded when Tennessee News anchor Cornelia Nicholson was proposed by her boyfriend Riley Nagel during her news broadcast. Interestingly, it was Nicholson herself who read out her own proposal and everyone in the studio understood it except for her. At first, she thought she was reading a "special report" until her boyfriend Nagel entered the room with flowers and said, "I thought it'd be fitting to ask you this question here since we met in the news. Cornelia Nicholson, would you marry me?" Moved by his words, a teary-eyed Nicholson happily said "yes" to the beautiful proposal.
