A couple discovered uninvited guests in their wedding photos. Their hilarious quest to find the crashers led to an unexpected and heartfelt Zoom call.
Wedding gatecrashing isn't unheard of, but managing to do it without getting caught is a rare accomplishment. What happens, though, if the bride and groom decide to track down the uninvited guests later? Sounds funny, right? Well, it’s not a movie plot but a real-life story. Newlyweds Danny Steeno (@1dsteeno) and his wife Daisy turned to TikTok for help after discovering two strangers in the photographs from their ceremony. Since neither of them could identify the pair, it appeared the young women had attended their Milwaukee celebration in October without an invitation.
In a video shared on the platform, the young couple asked the online community for help identifying the women in their wedding photos. “We had a photo booth, and there are two people that we did not invite to the wedding,” Steeno said, showing the picture of their wedding crashers. The newlyweds weren’t upset about the uninvited guests and, in fact, hoped they had enjoyed themselves. “We honestly would want to meet you and get lunch just to hear your side of the story,” Steeno added, with his wife laughing at the unexpected discovery. Speaking to PEOPLE, Steeno praised the women for being "really good wedding crashers." He said, "Nobody knew you were there. You guys just came and got a drink and peaced out, which was pretty cool."
The newlyweds' 33-second video message, appealing to their wedding crashers, quickly gained nearly five million views and sparked countless reactions. @christine_texas commented, “This was a bucket list thing for me. My friend and I did it, and we even brought a gift.” @overthinking_theclouds shared, “My husband and I once crashed a wedding in Palm Beach. During the reception, he found himself at the center of a dance floor circle, captivating every guest, including the bride and groom.” Meanwhile, @katcortese25 hoped, “Oh, algorithm, please bring me back for the update when they are found.” Within nine hours of posting the video, the couple succeeded in finding the wedding crashers.
“That’s literally my sister and her best friend! They couldn’t stop laughing about it at Thanksgiving dinner,” @da__gabagool revealed. Following this, the women, Valerie and Gracelyn (@funcheerios), reached out to the couple, leading to a Zoom call between the four. Steeno and Daisy later posted an update from their virtual meeting, where the young women explained the circumstances that led them to crash the wedding. Valerie began by sharing that she had been visiting Gracelyn in Milwaukee at the time, and with no plans, the two came up with a wild idea.
“We had no plans, so we said, ‘Why don’t we try wedding crashing?’” Gracelyn told the newlyweds. The young women had even done their homework before crashing the event. Gracelyn added, “We looked up the most popular wedding venues in Milwaukee and basically just hopped around town to each venue to see if there was a wedding happening.” The women explained that they “stumbled” upon the wedding venue and decided to go inside. “We followed the music to see where it was coming from and found your wedding,” they informed the couple.
Furthermore, the crashers admitted that they hadn’t brought a wedding gift. Gracelyn joked that their “presence” was the gift that made the event even more special. Valerie later revealed during the Zoom meeting that they hadn’t made any prior preparations because the decision to crash the wedding was entirely spontaneous. The women didn’t leave the wedding empty-handed, either—they had taken pictures at the photo booth. Steeno later shared a series of videos, where the couple chatted with Valerie and Gracelyn, as the women shared their experience.
