Missing a loved one's important day can be really challenging to recover from. But sometimes, that happens due to reasons nobody can really do anything about. It could be sickness, an accident, a flight delay, or so on. However, some people decide to make something better out of a missed opportunity. A woman named Francesca Rietti–who goes by @francescarietti on TikTok–shared how her sister and her husband surprised her grandparents after they could not attend their wedding due to a flight cancellation.

"My grandparents missed my sister's wedding because their flight was canceled from the crowd strike IT outage. So, we surprised them," the text overlay of the video read. "Today is my grandma's birthday. So, we're dressed up in our wedding attire and going to surprise them," the bride shared as the couple stood ready for the surprise. The couple walked down the stairs hand in hand in their wedding attire to excited screams and "Oh my god!" from the grandparents and the rest of the family. Beyond emotional after the couple's surprise, the grandparents stood up to give the bride and groom a big hug one by one. "We are going to be rereading the vows like we did at our wedding," the groom announced before the couple read their vows again in front of an excited audience.

The grandparents listened very closely and held each other's hand as the couple tried to recreate the beautiful moment for them. The pair also recreated their first dance for the grandparents to ensure they got to see every little detail of their big day. They also clicked pictures with their grandparents to have something to remember the day by instead of the wedding they missed. "Grandpa George turned 100 this year," Rietti revealed through the video. The caption to the post read, "Big surprise for my grandparents."

@lacceeyy remarked, "This is incredible and what amazing memories for everyone involved. At the end of our life, this is all we have. The memories." @astrokitty312 shared, "Got married the day after it all hit and we were so worried! Everyone luckily made it, though some had to drive 20 hours because of no flight. This is so sweet!" Another user expressed, "That is so thoughtful of you two. I know that they were probably so distraught when they couldn't go because of some IT problem. Especially for the elderly, they love seeing life events and family all." @mrs_miller revealed, "I am so happy you guys will have this memory! I flew that day too and someone waiting at the airport was going to miss her brother's wedding."
