A man shares a hilarious 'baby announcement' photo with his wife, swapping roles for a funny twist after her delivery, leaving everyone amused.
Gone are the days of simple baby announcement posts filling Instagram feeds. Today, it's all about creative and quirky "We are expecting" and baby announcement photoshoots! A new father (u/tyleryoungblood on Reddit) shared a hilariously innovative photo to announce the arrival of their baby. This was far from the typical image of a new mom holding her baby with the dad proudly standing beside them. Just 24 hours after delivery, when the mother looked "obnoxiously thin," the couple decided to switch their roles for a funny baby announcement photo.
"Our baby announcement photo. I joked I looked like the one who had just delivered. So we decided to swap for a funny photo," read the photo caption. In the picture, the husband lay on the hospital bed, cradling their newborn close to his chest, while the wife, looking perfectly normal, stood beside them. The humorous twist in the photo quickly went viral, receiving an overwhelming response on social media and leaving everyone in stitches. Many users joined the conversation, sharing their own personal anecdotes about childbirth in the comments section.
For instance, u/longbowturncoat commented, "The day after I had my daughter, still in the hospital, I was riding the elevator down to go get the car. I was holding my hands clasped beneath my stomach out of habit - plus I still had quite the tummy. A man gets on and smiles and asks how far along I am. I laugh and say 'Oh, no, I had her yesterday, I'm not pregnant anymore!' And the look on his face was so comical. Like he was shocked and embarrassed for having asked." On the other hand, u/puzzleheadeddesk4825 wrote, "Lol this made my day. Congratulations! We had our second daughter back in April, this would have been awesome to do." u/monster_notwar wrote, "Your daughter will love you for this in the future. Trust me. My parents' baby announcement when I was born was me popping out of a hole in my dad's shirt like an alien face hugger as he was behind the wheel of his car. It makes for a really great story when showing people old photo albums of myself."
Similarly, u/signal-commercial commented, "She looks so beautiful! You're a very lucky man. The little baby is beautiful too. Congratulations guys and well-done mom for being able to stand and go along with this so soon after labor!" u/tapewormninja wrote, "My wife and I have a similar photo to this? My daughter was born late morning, after what might have been the shortest labor in history. My wife was absolutely ready to leave maybe three hours after she was born, but we had to stay in the hospital for 24 hours as a rule. Nobody had explained to me that the chair in the room folded out into a bed, so I slept scrunched up in a ball mostly upright. The next morning my back was out and while my wife was up and cleaning the room and packing our things, I was lying in her bed trying not to hurt. My mom came in that morning and snapped a picture of that scene. It’s still pretty embarrassing."
