A 5-year-old girl had just joined her Spanish class and never believed that her classmates would come to her birthday until the party took a surprising turn.
There is truly something magical about children's birthday parties. Their innocence and genuine excitement about the simplest things in life are something that we often lose as we grow old. Most kids don't usually need extravagant celebrations; just a small gathering with their cherished friends makes them happy and fulfilled. That's exactly what happened with a little girl, Juni, who thought nobody would show up to her birthday party but was later surprised when her whole class showed up, making her special day unforgettable. The beautiful video was shared by the young child's mother, Elin Sjösten, who goes by @eamandasj on TikTok.
Since the little girl had just joined her Spanish class, she never expected that her entire class would turn up at her birthday celebration. However, contrary to her expectations, her birthday celebration was completely different. In the wholesome video, June was captured blowing out the candles of her birthday cake, surrounded by her equally excited classmates. "She was new in class, just learning Spanish, and thought no one would come to her birthday party. But the whole class showed up," read the overlay text on the screen.
Moreover, responding to comments, Sjösten also revealed what made her daughter think no one would come to her celebration. She said, "I think she was just worried since she had a hard time understanding Spanish in the beginning. She could not talk, just play."
Reacting to the heartfelt video, @alexxromeeroo commented, "In Spain when you’re little, it is normal to invite your whole class, and normally almost everybody shows up!" Similarly, @justlikeklee shared, "Oh, they do in Spain; they all make an effort. Even parents show up! I love how families do things together here!" @anjjelle1805 wrote, "Spanish people are the kindest. I am so happy for your baby girl!" On a lighter note, @wwsvtrbl pointed out, "Spanish people won’t be missing the chance to have food and party." @abril_lora87 revealed, "I've never known a Spanish kid not showing up at a birthday party. That may be an issue in the US, but don't worry about it here." @chaplinfamilylifeinspain praised the Spanish community and wrote, "Yes! They make so much effort to make sure kids are included and nobody is left out!"
@_itslaugrier wished, "I hope she makes a thousand new friends here!!! Happy birthday, little one!" On the other hand, @mocosemathey revealed, "Don't worry! Here mothers will do everything so their kids can attend a birthday party and be there for other kids. Also, they love to give and receive presents!" @_alejandrah_ talked about the Spanish culture and commented, "You can’t say 'party' in Spain without everybody showing up, sweetie!" @12half.moons revealed, "In Argentina (& pretty sure all LATAM (Latin America), we’d never not show up to a party just because somebody is new (quite the opposite actually). I guess we got it from Spanish culture."
Talking to Newsweek, Sjösten shared that when her family moved from Sweden to Spain, they decided to organize a birthday party and invited all of their daughter Juni's classmates to make her feel at home. However, even after Sjösten and her husband told her that her classmates would definitely come to her party, Juni wasn't quite convinced. But the moment she saw all her friends showing up at the gathering, the little girl was thrilled. "She was so happy when she saw them all walk in! She was overjoyed," her mother revealed.
