Neighbor rescues two cats and leaves them safely in the house with a note: 'So grateful'

Even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant impact. This kindness often inspires the recipient to pay it forward. Likewise, u/YoltsMCat shared a post recalling when a person came to their aid without them knowing about it. They shared their immense gratitude after the person helped keep their pet cats from running away or endangering themselves. “Someone rescued my cats before I even realized they were gone and I’m so grateful!” the caption of the post read. 

The post consisted of a note the person had written, which explained the entire situation wholesomely. The person wrote on the note, “Hey! Your cats got out around noon today. I put them back.” The person further wrote, “The white one jumped out of my arms and had a little fall, but other than that, all was well. Just wanted to let you know.” Unbeknownst to the pet owner, the person protected the cats from harm, preventing them from getting lost or facing danger. They also wrote a letter informing the owner of a responsible move.

Although the person expected nothing in return, the pet parent was highly grateful for their kindness. “I have no idea how the door got opened. I had groceries delivered, so I’m kind of paranoid they did something, but I don’t know. All that matters is that they are safe,” they said. The letter included the name and apartment number of the helpful neighbor, prompting the pet owner to plan a thoughtful thank-you gesture. Any pet parent can understand the relief from possible repercussions thanks to the stranger’s kindness.

The pet parent also shared a picture of the adorable yet mischievous felines who were safe and cuddled in the sheets at their home. The post received over 6k upvotes and people highly commended the person for their little yet astute work. Got a call from the pharmacy because my husky Ezzie was at the pickup window, blocking traffic, waiting for a milk bone. By the time I got over there, Ezzie was in the pharmacy waiting area, getting scratches from strangers, living his best life. Got lucky that day. Glad you had somebody looking out for your friends too.”
