When a person works as a nanny, they are often provided the family's food if they feel hungry. This is considered to be a perfectly normal thing and is practiced in many households that employ nannies. However, not all stick to behavior and even end up putting harsh rules on nannies, making their lives difficult. Brenna, who goes by @braonain1 on TikTok, posted a video where she revealed all of the random food items that she had to bring to the house where she worked as a nanny because they did not let her eat their food. The video has gained 375.5K likes and 4258 comments on the social media platform.

The text overlay on the video reads, "POV: When the family you nanny for doesn't let you eat their food, so you bring the most random stuff." Brenna writes in the caption, "Yeah, don't ask about my food choices. First time having a family tell me I can't eat their food, but it's all good." She showcases the bag she has with her and proceeds to pull out all of the items within to show them to her viewers. The woman pulls out crisps, a bagel, an orange and a lemon, along with a few other snacks that will hardly be sufficient for most adults. As she pulls them out, she reveals in the text overlay that she works full days, indicating how the food is probably not enough for her.

The video concludes with Brenna making coffee for herself and sarcastically being grateful for being allowed to drink it. People who watched the video were very shocked and shared their thoughts in the comments section. @starsdrifting67 commented, "If I could afford a nanny, I would absolutely not mind if they ate the food I bought since I'm trusting them with my children." @kayleefrancescaa shared, "Girl run. I am a nanny and they pay for everything and stock the fridges with my favorites. Gas is paid. I go on trips with them and everything is covered. Run!" Brenna clarified in the comments section of the video that she quit the job.

In fact, being a nanny can actually turn out to be a job filled with a lot of perks, especially if one works for a wealthy family. Callie, who goes by @calliecharming on TikTok, posted a video where she talked about all of the different perks of working as a nanny for a rich family. At the beginning of the video, the woman states that her employers pay for everything and that she even gets a credit card. Callie says, "Hampton and I will go meet a nanny friend for breakfast? They pay for it. Starbucks? They pay for it. That includes the car and the gas. I don't use my car. I use their car. They have a specific car for me."

The nanny shares that she makes approximately $30 to $35 an hour and that the rate would depend on the number of kids that she is working with. As reported by TODAY in 2022, the typical cost of babysitting across the nation varied, with rates ranging from $20.57 for looking after one child to $23.25 for caring for two children. This means that Callie's hourly rate makes her one of the higher-earning members in the profession.
