It was Nancy Pelosi who stole the headlines after Trump's State of the Union address as she shredded Trump's fragile ego and a copy of his speech in front of Congress. As Trump concluded his speech, Nancy Pelosi, with not as much as a change in her facial expression, tore up copies of the President's speech, letting everyone know what she thought of it. The Republicans and the White House hit out at Pelosi over the dramatic act but she couldn't care less. Pelosi even held up the torn sheets in glee, waving it to her fellow Democrats.

Donald Trump appeared to snub Pelosi's offer for a handshake at the start of his speech but it was Pelosi who would have the last laugh. Reporters asked Pelosi about her actions, to which she responded, "It was the courteous thing to do considering the alternative.” Pelosi labeled Trump's speech a "manifesto of mistruths," and added that it gave "no comfort to the 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions."

White House's Twitter handle slammed Pelosi, claiming that she had disrespected the armed forces by tearing up a few pieces of paper. The White House was oddly quiet when Trump dismissed traumatic brain injuries as nothing more than "headaches." "No, I don’t consider them very serious injuries. I’ve seen people with no legs and no arms. I can consider them to be really bad injuries,” said Trump.

"The manifesto of mistruths presented in page after page of the address tonight should be a call to action for everyone who expects truth from the President and policies worthy of his office and the American people. The American people expect and deserve a President to have integrity and respect for the aspirations for their children," said Pelosi, in a statement. Irrespective of what the White House or Republicans had to say, Pelosi sent Twitter into a meltdown and inspired a series of memes and reactions.
