'I've been praying every night past the break of dawn, I meant it, when I said it...'

First dances are always special, but couples often find it challenging to choose which song to play. However, that wasn't the case for Miles' best friend. When amateur musician Miles Hardt was invited to his best friend's wedding, he was blown away by the song played during their first dance. In the video shared by Hardt on December 23, the musician can be seen holding back his tears as he watches his best friend dance with his bride to his most special song.
Miles Hardt is an amateur singer known for his compositions, which he releases on Instagram (@mileshardt). When the singer was invited to his best friend's wedding, little did he know that he was in for a surprise that would bring him to tears. As the crowd sat to watch the newlyweds gear up for their first dance, he was stunned to hear the song they had chosen. As it turned out, the couple had settled on Hardt's own song "Strawberry Love" for their first dance. Hardt, who was unaware of the surprise, was struggling to contain his emotions as he fought back tears. In the video posted, Hardt can be seen lovingly watching the couple dance to his song.
As the lyrics to the song go, "When I said it, I've been praying every night past the break of dawn, I meant it, when I said it, I wanna spend the rest of my life in your arms," a teary-eyed Hardt smiles at his best friend for surprising him on his special day. For the unversed, the song "Strawberry Love" was released in 2024 across several streaming platforms and has received a lot of love from his fans online. While the tune surpassed several levels of success, having it played at his best friend's wedding was a surprise that little could outdo.

A wedding site, The Knot, told The New York Times that 'friend officiants' (incidents where the couple's close friend marries them instead of a priest) were hardly on the radar pre-2008. In 2009, they registered 29% of survey respondents claimed to use 'friend officiants.' By 2015, that number had jumped to 40%. So, involving friends in one's wedding is not uncommon, but the method certainly was. On the other hand, Today.com's own research also found that only 47% of couples remain close to a few individuals from their wedding, while only 20% maintain contact with more than half, and 30% remain friends with the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Soon after the video gained traction, many users shared their reactions to this wholesome moment. @rosecoloredkryss wrote, "I'm going to scream, that's so sweet in so many ways." @9030angie commented, "Aww, I would have cried with you. This is deeply touching and means so much to you on different levels." @velvetmoonalchemy wrote, "Omg this is so well deserved! When my person finds me, there are quite a few I will be choosing as well. Your music is so healing. It is proof to me that someone already exists with the heart and soul I crave!"
